I wonder if Noel even likes Phil Collins now.

I hate Dave Grohl not because he's made some terrible music (which he has), but because he and his band once supported AIDS denialist groups. They even linked to AIDS denialist websites on their official website. You can still see it if you use the Wayback Machine. They've removed all references to AIDS denialism since, but they never issued any official apologies for spreading lies about a very serious disease that kills a million people every year. I wasn't aware of that. Fucking idiots.

Man, I hate Dave Grohl. He literally likes everything. If you took a shit in front of him, he'd tell you how it was the greatest shit he's ever seen. Too often he comes off as a sycophant (Basically, Jimmy Fallon, but less creepy about it). Which ironically, Grohl is also like Noel. In the sense, that they tend to exclusively hang out with other famous people. Which there's nothing wrong with that. As I said, it's a lot more prevalent among rock stars than most people think. The difference is that Grohl makes it seem like he's everyone's best friend, which at some point comes off as disingenuous. He's cultivated a false image over the years. Heard from someone (an ex fan) that they encountered him once and went up to him in a hotel bar and he shouted at the guy to 'fuck off' without any hassle. Also read a book about U2s Achtung Baby/Zooropa phase by Bill Flanagan; Grohl went up to Bono after a gig and said 'no offence, but I'd never want to play stadiums like you guys. I'm in a punk band' and basically had an air of snobbery to him. "Obviously not the brains of the group" Bono muttered to Gavin Friday. Fast forward 25 years, look at what he's doing with Foo Fighters; and the music is total dreck. It's incredible how Foo Fighters have got away with their musical wallpaper for so long, merely on the basis that Grohl is a 'nice guy' and I suspect hanging on the coattails of Kurt Cobain. The whole thing surrounding him and Foo Fighters is bullshit. I love how anecdotes like that can completely give a false opinion on someone. To be honest, we don't know how all these people are in real life. Not Noel, not Liam, not anyone. They have bad days like us, bad encounters like us. this "ex-fan" was maybe a moron or too pushy while the guy was having a drink with friends.. maybe. If i quoted Liam Gallagher from the same type of book : "I will only sing your songs (referring to Noel) and John Lennon songs". Fast forward 25 years, look at what he's doing with his solo career. I'd say dont believe everything you read or hear. You can like or dislike someone from what he's saying, not what others are saying about him. Or what he supposably said. I would also say famous people only hang out with famous people simply because when you're rich and famous, you can't really trust anyone with true friendship anymore. That's probably why Noel does it too. I dont mind Dave Grohl. He's always giving 200% at his shows (unlike some other people we like on here). I only went to one Foo fighters gig in 2002. they were already big and famous. It was only a small gig of 150 people. And the guy did the show like he was in front of 100.000 people. Letting fans onstage to sing with the band and jump in the crowd. Giving it its full energy for the night. He didnt have too. It was not filmed, wasn't on a couch for a late show or anything. That's an anecdote for balance.

That's an anecdote for balance. I saw them in 2015, back when Dave had broken his leg. I'm not a huge fan, mostly familiar with their singles and a couple of album tracks here and there, but it was such a fun and great show! I enjoyed every minute of it and they looked as if they enjoyed it too! He was of course tied to a chair, but did that stop him from rocking ot? I don't fucking think so! They did a couple of good covers too. One of the best concerts I've ever attended, and I've seen quite a few big artists now.
