For 20 fucking years, I saw it as superfluous and fucking pointless - although it did sound alreet.
So after partying hard for over an hour with several lines of cocaine in the process, the absolute peak starting with the album title track (Be Here Now) and the following All Around The World leading ever higher into full ecstatic delirium once It's Getting Better (Man!!) kicks off. And believe me, it has been getting better (man) into its lengthy outro with Liam shouting the refrain over Noel's blissful riffs. As the track reaches its conclusion, the guests begin to leave the party and the Reprise begins to play.
Finally, a breath of fresh air coming out of that absolute 22 minute whirlwind of pure and utter madness. As you sit down, feeling proper diddy indeed, you now bask in the afterglow of the Reprise. You're feeling pretty damn good, still buzzing, life is grand albeit a bit calmer. Things are nice. Obla-di-obla-da, Naa-naa-naaaa....
...And then the crash of Standing on the Shoulder of Giants directly follows. Depression. Pessimism. Drug-induced psychosis. Paranoia.
But that's for later. Right here, right now the Reprise still plays and life is still okay in the afterglow.
Brilliant.

The door closing at the end signified the end of music as we knew it.

Noel must have been high, listening to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture on the BBC when he wrote this.

Until yesterday I used to skip it every time I listened to BHN but now I kind of enjoy it. Must have been the magic of the anniversary.

I never ever skip it when it's played at the end of a listen to Be Here Now, I love it. One of their best instrumentals! EASILY

It's the one song on the record that has the proper production.
It's like watching the sunrise after a long night of partying.
(I love Be Here Now btw.)

It's rubbish, just like the rest of that album.
If anyone ever cared about Oasis v Blur, then it's fair to say Blur eventually destroyed Oasis by 1997 when they released their incredible self titled album and Oasis released the awful Be Here Now. Plus with bands like Radiohead releasing Ok Computer around the same time, Oasis were being left for dust by other bands that were pushing their music forward for the better.

No one cared/cares about Oasis vs Blur which is why your post is completely irrelevant.
