Following on from Russ' appearance on The StageLeft Podcast, Gem is driving to meet me tomorrow afternoon. I've got allllll my questions lined up - The Quiet Ones, Hung in a Bad Place etc etc - if you've got any others let me know on here. I can't guarantee i will ask them but i might. Normally when i've done this i get 'Are Oasis gonna reform' or 'when are you playing *insert city here*' kinda stuff but you never know - come up with some good ones! -How he's doing after his head injury
-How Beady Eye decided to part ways and what he's been doing since
-How he got back with Noel and if he's doing anything on the new record
-What he thinks of Liam's new stuff and some insight on their mini songwriting partnership.

Why were Back After The Break and especially Off At The Next Exit left off of the standard BE tracklist? I personally prefer the first, but the latter had an enormous, much needed hit potential. I assume they chose Ballroom Figured out of the 3 but I've always wanted to know why.

Q: Did you tell Liam first before you played with Noel at the Albert hall in 2010. And then again after Beady Eye split and you joined NGHFB. If so what was his reaction?

No need to ask the same generic oasis questions all the time. This is a rarely if ever asked question. Gem was a part of these sessions. Surely his songs were worked on as well. Death In Vegas is interesting. Talking Beady Eye is not. |

- Has there been a Beady Eye meeting where they decided to put an and to it. Or was it just Liam texting the others he was gonna quit? Did Gem himself wanted Beady Eye to make a 3d record?
- Does he think BE was a missed opportunity given the good tracks on it, with Liams personal problems and his injury?
- Is he still in contact with Liam now?

Can he shed some light on the whole Steve Lillywhite debacle?
What are his lyrical influences? Some abstract phrases in some of his tunes.

Are there any unreleased tracks that he can give us any info on? Anything we don't know about? There's a couple of tracks in the DOYS documentary that we haven't heard yet. Also, how much did him and Noel play on the Proud Mary debut record? I know they produced it, but all the guitar sounds like his/Noel's playing, and there's a lot of SOTSOG-y sounding bits on there too (the Mellotron choirs). Finally, would he play guitar on one of my band's songs please? A little solo or something? I can pay him in snacks or something if he lets me know what he likes.  Cant wait to hear the interview! |

I'd be interested to hear too what Gem contributed to the sessions for the debut NGHFB album. Gaz Cobain mentioned that Gem had played some guitar that he wanted to use on the AA version of the album because it was 'vibey' but it didn't make it
