Liam has really good mic technique in the studio from watching that video. Anybody that's worked in studios or been singing in studios will see what i mean, that he is controlling dynamics with different placements of certain words on the microphone, you learn how to work the microphone. It's subtle but makes a huge difference when recording, even the smallest change of distance makes a big difference, especially with the kind of dynamic mic he's using there. He's a pro at it.

The vocal take seems nice although there´s some obvious auto-tune going on. But it´s a capella, no instruments at all, so i can´t really say anything about the song itself. Bring on friday though, this pretty much proves the friday single is really For What It´s Worth without any doubt now.

I hear it double tracked with a decent amount of reverb .. sounds fantastic

Bit odd the Lad Bible have the exclusive of this. Vocal sounding great though! Yeah, or clever marketing. It must be one of the most followed pages on Facebook, or at least one of the pages driving the most traffic. It's huge.

This vocal has definitely gone through something like Melodyne like basically 99.9% of vocals you hear on any record by any band/artist today. I can hear the audible artifacts clearly, i work with Melodyne most days.

THIS SOUNDS FUCKING GREAT. I can't wait for this track to come out! There's definitely autotune btw, amongst other effects like reverb and delay. ninestonecowboy is absolutely correct, there's autotune in everything nowadays. It's normal procedure within the industry. I personally see no problem with it, it's not affecting Liam's vocal take or taking it to a whole other level. It's just there to avoid semitones and minor stuff.

You still have to have tons of talent to do it. Even back when they did this they had a lot of double tracking and reverb on it. We are all super fans but if you never have seen the live forever vocals only video watch this! Or the champagne supernova video.

It won't make you suddenly sound great, and that's not the reason for so many people to use it. Like I said before, it's supposed to perfect little things, like semitones and small pitch errors. Don't think of it as the pop-ish, robotic effect you hear on the radio sometimes. Of course Liam has talent, but he (and Noel too) has been using autotune, which was invented in 1997, since SOTSOG. And it's alright. It's alright, now...

We are all super fans but if you never have seen the live forever vocals only video watch this! Or the champagne supernova video. Absolutely. Even plenty of old vocals from the 80's and 90's were essentially autotuned by using things like Eventide Harmonisers, i'm pretty sure it's all over Definitely Maybe. That's what they used on Ian Browns voice on the Stone Roses debut too. Autotuning is not a modern thing at all, it's just the modern software plugins make the job a 1000x easier and people started using it as an actual effect by manipulating it to sound a certain way. There's really nothing wrong with it at all. All of the instruments on these albums are processed and treated in one way or another. Using things like pitch correction are just standard practice. It doesn't mean the singers lack talent, incredible singers use it too and it's not necessarily used to "fix" a bad vocal, it's basically just polishing up a good take. You can't really polish a turd. It's just a way for the person mixing the song to get everything sounding nice together in the mix. People may argue that the great artists in the 50's and 60's or whatever didn't need it. Well yeah, but it's not like a lot of modern singers NEED it. Music back then wasn't recorded and mixed as polished as today, so the vocals didn't need to be "perfect" as such, it all sat together well. Put a virtually untreated vocal together with more modern sounding music and it will sound pretty awful in the mix, even if it's a good take. It's just the art of mixing.
