I like it, but it's too psychedelic for me - which I know is the appeal to the majority.
I will say this: Those two opening verses are the best lyrics Noel has ever come up with - pure fucking poetry.

I'd say it's the best 2000s Oasis song for me, especially live...

It would definitely make my top 5. It might make my top 5 of any rock song list to be honest. It's a shame it doesn't get more attention. I wish Liam would sing it live again...especially now with his voice somewhat recovered.

I want it too, but even though I'm not as down on the band as some others I'm not sure they could do it justice right now...

I agree with Lennon2217 that Gas Panic isn't objectively Top 5 material. With a band like Oasis that's EXTREMELY difficult territory to mark.
But as we see in this thread, Gas Panic is in many fans' top 10 favourites list, mine included. Which is nice to see, as it is a terrific tune.
If you consider 2000s OAsis to be like a new band, this song could be argued to be their best song from those 9 years. Maybe we need a poll for that. I think Gas Panic has a good chance to taking the #1 spot.

Best post-BHN tune for me. Strongly in my top ten but I don't think It would fit in the top five.

I'm one of those boring people that has never had any post WTSMG material in my top five (which changes and has changed through the years).

A monster of a song when it was played live. I was at a stadium gig and it was the song of the night but the crowd was full of people with no interest in the song so they arsed around waiting for the hits. WOOOOOOOO!

It is an incredible song and one that proudly sits in the very top tier of Oasis songs but top 5 is a tough ask,
I'd go Live Forever Some Might Say Champagne Supernova Slide Away
Those 4 are constants but Gas Panic! would be vying for the 5th spot along with Whatever, Aquiesce, Columbia, The Masterplan, Listen Up.... they were great weren't they??

It's not a top five tune, but it is one of their bonafide great songs. Along with Falling Down and Importance of Being Idle, it is the greatest of the post-90s era.
I've said it before, but I think Noel was inspired by this song by obscure Mancunian space rock band Sundial. The bass and riff from around the 2.40 mark reminds me of the demo outro (and Familiar To Millions outro). You might not hear the influence, but screw it, listen to it anyway, it's a great track!

Top 5 of the 2000s for sure. But factoring the 90s in it's probably more top 20 for me. Great song regardless
