no it isnt shes got a lovely voice, this is a far better version than noel's, even with johnny marr featured, nothing beats a liam sung version

Stop covering your own songs god There's nothing wrong with covering own songs. Noel does, Liam does, Moz does, Marr does and many more bands/singers do. Even I prefer the original version of Champagne Supernova sung by Liam myself, I don't see the point to start a thread like this, same goes to all those Oasis reunion threads by Beady’s Here Now. |

Even I prefer the original version of Champagne Supernova sung by Liam myself, I don't see the point to start a thread like this, same goes to all those Oasis reunion threads by Beady’s Here Now. Doing your own song is fine. Doing it in a version of another person, especially when none of your crowd are singing it that way, is shit. |

Yup, and as much as I like Gem I miss Noel's guitar solo too Said that, I've got no problems with Noel singing it the way he does, that song means so much to the people and they'll sing their heart out no matter what version you're playing |

I really like that Pretty Reckless version especially with the Dear Prudence bit added. I said that Noel should try doing it or something similar but I hope I'm in no way responsible for him or one of his team reading that on this forum and ending up with the vomit-inducing version he's performed the last few years (unlikely I know).

This version is nice to hear a few times, just like Ryan Adams' version of Wonderwall. But after those few times it becomes really boring.

I think that's one of the reasons he changes the arrangements of Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, Supersonic when he does with NGHFB, to avoid any comparison with the studio versions. Which is a bit silly thing to do because we all know it isn't going to be better but it's always nice to hear songs in their best form (a "fast" Wonderwall is always going to be better than a very slow one ) |
