Absolutely brilliant performance from the boys. In particular Stevie Gerrard, Stephane Henchoz and the revitalised Bruno Cheyrou. One of the best displays we've put on in yonks! Deservedly beat one of the better teams in the country and a cracking atmosphere to boot!
Come on you Redmen!

yeh we were much better second half. When owen comes back to full fitness i think we'll go on a bit of a run.

it was a decent match. roberts free-kick was a cracker. he just launches the ball. it was 78mph.

it was a decent match. roberts free-kick was a cracker. he just launches the ball. it was 78mph. yeah his shooting is awesome. he must have the most powerful shot i've ever seen but columbia is right - Dudek should have saved it Liverpool have looked decent lately. But i find it hard to understand why all you merseyside folk are happy with the state of affairs at liverpool? You have under-achieved for years under Houllier. and there is no arguement to that. Yet season after season he remains in the job? And you are happy with 4th place?? Maybe he will get it right eventually, but you have to question why he hasnt got it right so far. There is no excuse for the under-achievement

hold on ill be fair to him he's only had one bad full season that was last. The season before that we finished 2nd and got 82 points that would win the league most years. This season hasnt been great so far but ill wait untill the ned of the season before judging him. I dont think anyone's thrilled that 4th place would be considered a good season but just being realistic. I dont think suddenly sacking houllier will change that.

I dont think suddenly sacking houllier will change that. i take your point, but i still say its under-achievement. one 2nd place finish in how many seasons he has been in charge - 4 or 5? and it isnt just Houllier- liverpool havent reached the heights of their past for years now but yeah of course, we'll see how the rest of the season goes. Owen's return will help you, but if he and Kewell got injured - you'd be in the shit big time. Heskey is just not in the same class i guess i'm judging them on recent seasons - the gap between liverpool and the other big 3 has increased so much over the past season and a half. and i just can't see them turning it around

hmmm, well i hope your wrong. I certainly cant see us winning the league next season. But i think weve got quite a bright future. Gerrard is 22 so is owen, sinama pongolle is 19 and looks special so does le tallec who's also nineteen. I think we need a new centre half a new right sided midfielder and a new striker because we rely on owen too much. I think if we got good players for those positions we could seriously challenge for the league.
Your right when you say we would struggle without owen but man united would struggle with van nistelrooy and arsenal would struggle without henry. Chelsea are the only team in the league who can afford a injury to one of there main strikers, eveyone else would struggle.

cisse will help i think....but remeber it took alex ferguson 15 years to win anything! Its true what carragher said: "When Gerard Houllier does eventually leave, people will look back at what he achieved and the trophies he won and consider this to be a golden period for the club," claimed Carra. "There's always someone who's done more here. If Liverpool hadn't won all those league titles years ago and then we'd won that treble, we'd be legends forever. "We've been to Cardiff more than any other club, and we shouldn't take our trips there for granted. Compared to other clubs, what we've achieved under Girard Houllier is exceptional. It's not that we've beaten Mickey Mouse teams to do it: Arsenal, Manchester United, Roma, Bayern Munich, all big teams. But we're Liverpool and, because the fans have been brought up on winning the league, the title is everything. It hangs around our necks, even though that was a different era. Our last championship was 14 years ago and it's not as if Gerard was manager immediately after we last won it.

Derby day today. Performance was top drawer and we probably played as well footballing wise as we have all year, Nigel Martyn was awesome for the toffees and we just couldn't put the ball in the net. Again an encouraging performance!
