So here's a remix I kind of sort of announced in the "Chinatown" thread. I put a "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants" twist on the track and make it more Oasisy for your listening pleasure Drum programming, guitars, mix, mastering - all me, so let's hope my Friday evening did not go to waste I tried to upload it on YouTube, but WMG won't let me be - bastards! Thus, if you want to give it a listen, head over to: instaud.io/13xr
Let me know what you think

It's on YouTube now as well, albeit in a much more trippy version to circumvent the YT sound recognition

^ That's a brilliant mix!
Just confirms to me that Chinatown ought to build to something better after the instrumental bit.

Sounds cool, although personally I'm (admittedly unfairly ) comparing it to Gas Panic rather than Chinatown because of that sample from the start... So when I click play it feels like a bait-and-switch where I expect to hear Gas Panic and end up with Chinatown Still sounds great though, one of the smoother and more seamless remixes I've heard from this forum.

At the start i was very meh on it, thought it did not fit the song at all to mix up with Gas Panic i mean. But as the song builds it gets better and better. Great job buddy, on repeat right now.

Great remix! Honestly I prefer the song like this, the original doesn't go anywhere for me.

This is fucking brilliant! Had it on my mp3 pretty much all day (iirc the first time I've ever had a fan made remix on there), can't get bored of it.
Someone should send this to Liam on twitter

Nice remix! You should do a nice remix of Liam's DLBIA with some fresh music instead of the crappy ones on YT with a midi like backing track...

This is really cool. I think to be 100% perfect Liam's vocal would have to be a little more upbeat because it doesn't quite fit the tone you've set with the backing. Amazing job though.
Any chance you could do a version without the Gas Panic! sample?

As I said in the Chinatown thread, this mix is extraordinary! I like the original version but I think I prefer this. Very good job mate!

Tremendous work. I'd love to hear what you could do with the early Oasis track Better Let You Know.

The first version sounds rubbish. No offence. It just made a good production sound bland, obvious and uninspiring. A remix is supposed to put an interesting spin on a tune, not make it generic. I think it's the guitar you have put on throughout the track, the tone does not sit well with the rest of the track, it sounds like some sort of guitar amp sim plugin on a preset.
I quite like the more trippy version on youtube though

Tremendous work. I'd love to hear what you could do with the early Oasis track Better Let You Know. Never mind Better Let You Know, I'd like to hear remixes of other songs from then..Alice, Reminisce or See The Sun

Tremendous work. I'd love to hear what you could do with the early Oasis track Better Let You Know. Truth be told, I'm currently working on another early Oasis track - "Snakebite". I might give BLYK a shot sometime later though
