I think we should definitely sign him permantly! seems like a good player from what i've seen. He has flair and creativity which we lack at the moment. I'd honestly say he'd be an excellent signing for us and i hope our manager sees that to he should continue the long history of Americans playing for sunderland! ;D www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Story_Page/0,7760,753292,00.html

oh no , my world is going under my saturday trips to Giant Stadium will never be the same, Clint go kick some UK ass ;D lol ;D yeah he's one of your fave players isnt he? who'd have thought he'd ever go slumming and play for sunderland.... i'm not so sure he will be signed here though. Our manager Mick McCarthy always comes up with the same line - if he isnt better than our current squad, then we won't sign him. Which is a fair point. But if McCarthy judges Clint Mathis to be worse than the frankly terrible strikers we already have at this club, i will be dumbfounded.

Mathis will not be signing for Sunderland He decided to accept a contract offer from Hannover and will be playing in the German League. Apparantly the money was just too good to turn down.... always the same with you Americans isnt it? ;D His agent said that Mathis was very impressed with Sunderland, and that the training facilites and stadium were the best he's seen. But he couldnt resist the offer of top flight football and money that Hannover offered. thats a shame. but hopefully we will still bring a new striker in before the transfer window closes

Hmmmm you might be able to see some good football this summer again. I think Celtic and some other good euro teams are gonna tour North America in the summer.
