I find it ridiculous and quite offensive that artists should boycott and neglect an entire people because of the abusive actions of their government. Thom Yorke's comments on the situation were absolutely spot on.

Plenty of artists won't play there but they're more than happy to sell their music to fans in shops in Israel which has taxes going to the government anyway. Anyway as someone of Israeli background on 1 side of my family and still have family there, I'd say a lot of the musicians need to educate on problems coming from both sides and not just taken what they see from the outside and from the media as gospel. Not everything is what it seems but that's for another topic altogether. Also I don't say that with any kind of bias or patriotism because I basically just identify as British 😊 But as I say, a lot of artists want to stand in public and make a point of not playing there but more than happy to still make money through record sales, merchandise etc. |
