Leeds' caretaker manager Eddie Gray wants Alan Smith to avoid further disciplinary problems, the United star having been booked in his last three games. Smith has impressed in a central midfield role on his last two appearances, but has been cautioned in both games, with Gray seeking an improvement in the coming weeks. He said: "Alan is the type of player who likes to get involved in a game and be in the thick of things and it still gives him the opportunity to get forward if he is playing in this role. "You've just got to make sure that when he plays in that midfield area he doesn't go over the top and become too aggressive. "Because he wants to be involved and work hard for the team, he just has to control himself a little bit more. "I've explained that to him and he knows that."
