Since I'm waiting on new Arctic Monkeys material, here's a poll to decide their best album.

Its got to be WPSIATWIN for me, Such a great album, full of energy, great lyrics, melody and sound. Paints a picture of a "night out on the sesh with de lads" perfectly. However in saying that, I'm a big fan of all their albums other than suck it and see which was a bit meh.

Voted for FWN but it could change from one day to another. The only one I rarely listen to is Suck it and see, it has some brilliant moments but overall I think it's the weakest of their discography.
Can't wait to see what they'll release next, I predict a change in their sound because Alex Turner doesn't like seem to like to stick to a formula.

Definitely WPSIATWIN, but they're all pretty great...

Agreed. I never got the fuss over AM and I consider myself a pretty big fan of the band and have been since IBYLGOTD came out. I hope they come back with something completely different. All that leather jacket and greasy hair bullshit bored me to death.

Wrong section. And wrong band. They're awful. This. Thank fuck, I was sure I was the only one who thought that on this forum. Never understood the appeal of that band and why they're held as the last great british rock act...

Yeah, I don't get the hype either.
I like a few songs but for the most part I see them as just another ordinary, uninteresting indie rock band from the '00s. Very far from being some kind of sensational act or the best band of the decade, imho.

Definitely overrated but there are only few albums that get me as excited as Whatever People Say...
I liked AM first but it got boring really quick. I hope they'll come back with a different sound

I'm amazed Suck It And See only has one vote, I really enjoyed that era.

"Suck it and See" is their best for me. I'm not just saying that to go against the grain. I genuinely cannot beilieve people dislike this album. "Hellcat" - "Reckless Serenade" - "Piledriver Waltz" - "Black Treacle" and my favourite Monkeys song "That's Where You're Wrong"...very underrated song that. The whole album is great and it has a straightforwardness to it which was and nice change of pace for the band at the time. Sounds like The Smiths and The Cure in places.
"Humbug" is great too, it's probably the definitive "grower" album. Took me awhile to appriciate it. The other 3 albums I don't listen to much. Their first two sound pretty dated toe now, but I'll revisit them again one day. "AM" is good but it's a bit too polished and stylised for me. Never got the love for "Do I Wanna Know?"... Overrated IMO. Fireside is great though.
Looking forward to what they do next.

Suck it and See is their best imo whereas AM is the album that tumblr girls buy as their first vinyl record which they play on a crosley they got from urban outfitters or paperchase.

Whatever People Say definitely. I can't think of any better albums released after 2006. Well, Innerspeak from Tame Impala maybe.

Ironically you all are sucking on the hooligan album. Suck It And See is legendary. The later Monkeys are pure class mate. What pisses me off is indie boys out there don't appreciate the brilliance. Never thought I'd agree with the MAINSTREAM pricks but here I am. SUCK IT AND SEE. AM. CLASS.
