Since things are pretty quite on Noel Gallagher news, thought I'd start this one. So, NG is supporting U2, what do you think he'll play? I think he'll get about 45mins to an hour. So, I've gone with 12 tracks. Has to be a best of/singles set & NGHFB/OASIS mix surely? 1. Everybody's on the Run 2. Lock All The Doors 3. Death Of You And Me 4. The Masterplan 5. Heat of The Moment 6. Half The World Away 7. You Know We Can't Go Back 8. Champagne Supernova/Whatever 9. If I Had A Gun 10. Cast No Shadow/Supersonic 11. What A Life 12. DLBIA Bet he plays Wonderwall though

1. (It's Good) To Be Me 2. Whatever 3. Half the World Away 4. Talk Tonight 5. Morning Glory 6. Wonderwall 7. In the Heat of the Moment 8. Champagne Supernova 9. AKA... What a Life! 10. The Masterplan 11. Don't Look Back in Anger
Maybe if we are very lucky he will play new material. I wonder if he will join U2.

Don't you think maybe he'll play one or two new songs? Oasis played DYNWIM for the first time while supporting U2 in June 1997, seeing as we are long overdue to hear some new NG material I don't see why we wouldn't get at least the debut single from album #3. By July he will surely have decided which track he wants as the first single and it'd be a smart commercial decision to play the new single to 80,000 potential new hfb fans.

Yep, I guess a new song could, and maybe should, be played.
I'd also swap one of my original Oasis choices out for She's Electric, don't think it's been played for about 15 years? Sounded good with Noel on vocals during HC tour

Noel is going to liken the U2 crowd to a Festival crowd. He'll only play the hits. Maybe he plays his new single.....maybe.

Billed as NGHFB, do you think he'd play 9 Oasis songs out of an eleven song set? I guess the crowd are more likely to know the Oasis ones, but NGHFB singles have had decent exposure too.

almost guarantee that it will be your standard Noel setlist with MAYBE a new tune but id be more surprised to see one.
hes not going to be playing obscure tracks to a crowd that isnt there to see him.

Probably. He almost has a 50/50 Oasis/Solo set for his own gigs tbf. I don't think he should play more Oasis than solo though, even for this support slot. Time will tell. Obviously, he's not going to play something like Alone on the Rope or Hey Now

He'll just use these support slots as a nice pay day and a chance to sharpen his performances for his forthcoming tour. As much as I'd love to, I don't think we'll be hearing anything new.

Got my tickets in for London and Dublin U2 in July. Looking forward to it although I pray Noel gives us something even slightly different (no chance!)

What are the chances Noel will come on for some U2 songs too? I'd say pretty high.

With November tentatively announced the other day as the album release date, then a lot depends on when the lead single comes out.
If it comes out in July, say a week or so before these gigs, he may well play that. But that'd be the only new song I imagine.
As people have said above, Noel will treat this as a warm-up and he'll treat the U2 crowd as he would a festival crowd - so hit songs and maybe, maybe, the new single.

So, if I had to bet (and assuming a new single comes out in July...)

I got my tickets on thursday. I'm not holding my breath for an exciting setlist from Noel, although hearing a track off album #3 would be awesome.
If something like this happens I'll be very happy.

Was thinking about trying to blag a cheap ticket off eBay and leaving after Noel but they're not doing anything in the North. Frustrating.

You would seriously leave after Noel and miss an essentially free U2 concert? You'd also be extremely lucky to get a cheap ticket. The two tickets I got would cost me about £1000 today if I were to buy them from getmein!

Tickets for any stadium gig can usually be bought on the cheap if you go right down to the wire. And yeah, I wouldn't want to watch an hour and a half of U2. I'd rather be at home shitposting than watching them.

You might get face value if you fancy just seeing the U2 encore lol
