glider, My Big Name, we've decided to limit it to two nominations as there was only a limited amount of nominations that can be placed in a poll. Also, it provides greater focus to the poll, ensuring that the best tunes really are on there as opposed to the mass sprawl of nominations.

Already There - The Verve High and Dry - Radiohead If 'Paranoid Android' wins, then I'll replace H&D with 'Catch the Breeze' by Slowdive.

Would be nice if there was some sort of app that compiled specific track numbers on albums, I'm struggling to place songs with sequence on albums....over the last few years I normally listen to music on shuffle, too.
One of my track 3 nominations will be, sticking with the VU theme: 'Rock and Roll' by the Velvet Underground. 'Come As You Are' by Nirvana.
Figure some one else will nominate the famous Oasis track 3 songs....
Thanks.

What's the point in nominating songs for track 3 when we have zero clue as to who is going to win track 2? Whatever happened to flow?

What's the point in nominating songs for track 3 when we have zero clue as to who is going to win track 2? Whatever happened to flow? On the large scheme of things, I don't think people are going to be voting and thinking too much about flow. Ideally I'd like it, so that said, I will hold back my nominations until we get the results with the possibility of changing them concerning which song is chosen.

i think with a project like this, we should worry less about flow, and be more concerned about having 12 solid, can't miss, killer tracks. my two cents.

I think we can keep the result up for a day or two - at least plenty enough time for everyone to see it.

I just wish that some of the most over played songs are not nominated, unless they're as good as Bohemian Rhapsody. Most if the times, there are far better songs than Crazy Train and Mr. Brightside. Well I don't like wondereall so I am biased

Glad to see 'America' already being nominated, so I wouldn't have to turn down one of these two EPIC tracks:
The Doors - The Crystal Ship Tom Waits - Christmas Card From A Hooker In Minneapolis

this project is a brilliant idea, and a lot of fun. the one downside i was thinking about today, is that there are some great songs out there that will never have a shot (like 'comfortably numb', for example), because of their track positing on longer/double albums.

I wonder if there's a way to get around this. I know there's many great album that extend over 12 tracks. Maybe to start off with we could have the 'penultimate track' of this Live4Ever album to include any penultimate track whatever the tracklist number, likewise for the final track.

maybe we can make the 'hidden track' that you guys were talking about be the wild card... it could be any track from any album I like this idea! ...and it might also give a track a 'second chance' at getting on, if it lost out the first time around. i mean think about it... having a song the caliber of a 'comfortably numb' as a hidden track at the end? what a finish. now THAT'S an album.

Either that or it's a horrendous decision comparable to Oasis in the 00's. I mean, what's the point of writing a song that good and then making it a hidden track? I don't even care if all of the other songs make it look like crap; there's no reason why you'd hide a song that good!

Even though it's like track 19 on The Wall, "Comfortably Numb" could qualify as a track six pick since it was track six, side three on the original vinyl release. For many older albums originally released on vinyl that are really long, like The Wall and The White Album, we could use that criteria.
