Does this record belong to Noel?
Seven with Oasis + two Solo albums. Crazy to think he is on for 10 in a row this year!

I could honestly see him not making #1 this time. If we go with the thought of diminishing returns, and drop in record sales in the industry (with more reliance on streaming, and Noel's fan base being mostly old school physical buyers), I could see him slipping unless he has another "hit" akin to WAL or even TDOYAM.
Edit:
I think that's partly why he's touring with U2. I think it might be part of a plan to prop up any decline in sales that might be possible, but he'll probably have to do a little bit more than that imo.

So he can promote the new album. It would make little sense to me to play the tour and not showcase any new material. Also, noel is not the guy to roadtest new songs and play 2 or 3 songs before the album release. I think he might be in the final stages of completing the album now.

He will, it will sell 50k and go number one easy.

Is there a Beatles album that didn't go to number 1? Magical Mystery Tour I believe That wasn't released as an album in the UK until the 1970s. The Yellow Submarine album may not have made number 1 but that would still leave them with about 9 in a row before that. If that's the only blemish in their 1960s run of number one albums then it's shame they made the decision to release Yellow Submarine (which only had 4 new Beatles songs on it) as an album instead of an EP.

Well the thing is not all Beatles albums were No. 1 on both the UK and the US charts. Actually I'm not sure. And there were so many Beatles albums that are considered not to be studio albums

Do hes probably level with The Beatles at this point. That is incredible.

I don't think 10 in a row is even close to the most... [googling] Admittedly this site has not been updated to reflect the past 3 years or so. ----- In the case of Oasis/Noel... for the sake of records like this it is hard to determine, because most charting services will consider ALL albums... so The Masterplan, Stop The Clocks, and Familiar to Millions all count... as such... there were gaps in Oasis track record of #1 albums. Now.. if we talk about Studio albums only, then maybe you have an argument. Also, Noel has a good argument with this list... although Oasis and High Flying Birds are most certain counted separately... ARTIST NUMBER OF ALBUMS 1 BEATLES 15 2 ELVIS PRESLEY 13 3 ROBBIE WILLIAMS 12 -- MADONNA 12 5 ROLLING STONES 11 -- DAVID BOWIE 11 7 MICHAEL JACKSON 10 -- BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN 10 -- U2 10 10 ABBA 9 -- QUEEN 9 12 ROD STEWART 8 -- BOB DYLAN 8 -- OASIS 8 -- LED ZEPPELIN 8 -- R.E.M. 8 17 CLIFF RICHARD 7 -- TAKE THAT 7 -- ELTON JOHN 7 -- EMINEM 7

I know Arctic Monkeys have the record for consecutive albums to debut at No.1 with 5, so even the Beatles didn't manage that.
Got nothing to do with the actual thread like, but who cares.

Noel has had 10 #1's if you count HFB and Oasis as one thing. If you do this for Robbie Williams with Take That however, then HE has 19!

He has 12 #1's as a solo artist, but only considering Take That albums that he had any involvement in, then that only adds 3 more to his total (four if you include a greatest hits, five if you consider Progressed to be a separate album to Progress), so 17 tops imo Still impressive though

Isn't that just on an independent label? Yeah seems you are right, says "The Beatles still hold the record for most consecutive Number 1 albums from debut onwards (seven), from their 1963 album Please Please Me, through to Revolver in 1966" I actually read that earlier as well, seems it went straight over my head. My bad. Ah well, can actually see them beating that record one day, they just haven't done it yet.

I don't think 10 in a row is even close to the most... [googling] Is that for the UK or the world though? I did some online hunting. The Beatles first nine UK album releases went to number one in the UK - from PLEASE PLEASE ME right through THE WHITE ALBUM. Their next release was YELLOW SUBMARINE and that broke the run and only got to number 3. ABBEY ROAD and LET IT BE followed by getting to number 1. MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR was released as a 1967 album in the USA but not in the UK until 1976. So they had an ubroken run of 9 number one albums in a row in the UK (and managed to achieve that in the space of just six years!). After they split in 1970 the albums LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL, LIVE AT THE BBC, ANTHOLOGY 2 and the compilation album ONE all went to number 1 in the UK. So 15 number 1 UK albums in total - 9 of them in a row.
