This is the most obvious article I've ever skimmed. No kidding it will now be harder to make more than your parents, but when does this even matter? Only if you're poor really... the average quality of life has gone up dramatically in the last 80 years. We've moved from a mostly agrarian society to an urban one. As populations increase it is harder to find work, certainly harder to find work for which you are getting overpaid. All in all... if I make the same as my middle-class parents then I'll be just fine financially. These "numbers" are based on the average middle-class person... people who start with less (i.e. lower income people) still have an extremely high chance to out earn their parents. While upper-middle class folks have no reason to make more than their parents seeing as they are sitting well as is. This article is trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
