Along the lines of a guilty pleasure, but not necessarily. Just artists you like that arent fully consistent with your record/iTunes collection.
I'll kick things off with these two:
Example Taylor Swift
I've rediscovered Example the last couple days. He has some very good material.

Can't tell if you're being serious or not, but Snoop is one funny motherfizzle.

Eminem (really any time I get into a rap song for that matter) When he's being serious, he's really fucking good. But all too often he's just fucking immature. It really distracts from the artist he should or could have been. And for the record, I like some Lily Allen, too.

Lana Del Rey, Mumford and Sons, Laura Marling, Blur :-) Agree on Lana Del Rey and Laura Marling, but not Blur (they're a pretty good British pop group who did their best stuff in the mid-90s, a period of music I absolutely LOVE, so it's not too surprising I like them). I've gotta say, I do think Mumford & Sons are pretty dreadful, though.

Serious. I tend not to care much for gangsta rap.

And for Mumford and Sons, I have special memories listening to their first album. That album just clicked for me in 4am, in the countryside, with someone special, after drinking all night. I don't think I've listened that album during the day.

I'm not that into pop but I tend to enjoy Rihanna songs a lot.
The Last Shadow Puppets, Pink Floyd and U2 (Bono is just too much) are bands that all bother me in some way, yet I still very much like significant amounts of their music.
Then there's bands like Weezer and Rush that don't really fit my tastes genre-wise, but somehow just hits the right nerve. That being said I don't listen to Rush much these days, but I will always love them for their ambition, songwriting and musicality, together with managing to remain very humble, funny and down-to-earth guys depsite being massive rock stars. At times pretentious music created by very unpretentious people!

It really distracts from the artist he should or could have been. And for the record, I like some Lily Allen, too. From 1999-2003, Eminem was fucking amazing in all three of his guises - the wicked humour of Slim Shady, the anger of Eminem, and the humanity of Marshall Mathers. If he had been killed in his prime like Tupac or Biggie, he would have nailed on as the GOAT. I'll take seven kids from Columbine, stand them all in line, Add an AK47, a revolver, a Mac, and a nine, and that oughta solve a problem of mine; that's a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time, Cos I'm S.H.A.D.Y, they call me as crazy as the world was over this whole Y2K thing, And, by the way, N'Sync - why do they sing? Am I the one who realises they stink? Should I dye my hair pink, and care what y'all think? Lip sync, and buy a bigger size of earring? That's why I tend to block out when I hear these things, cos all these fans screaming is making my ears bleed, so I just throw up a middle finger and let it linger longer than the rumour that I was sticking it to Christina - Cos if I ever stuck it to any singer in showbusiness, it'd be Jennifer Lopez and Puffy, you know this. I'm sorry Puff, but I don't give a fuck if this chick was my own mother, I'd still fuck her with no rubber and cum inside her and have a new son and a new brother at the same time, and just say that it ain't mine - WHAT'S MY NAME?

Sleaford Mods, Plan B, Chase & Status, Christine & The Queens. I might add John Barrowman, but I have never again listened to his albums after I came off that massive "Torchwood" craze I was indulging a few years ago.

Think he got too serious as time went on.

I try to find but I can't think of any.
Some people are surprised I can't fucking stand the Artic Monkeys for the most part, though. That and Pete Doherty.

I like the first two Avril Lavigne albums. For real. The first one is a very enjoyable listen. Me too. Love like Taylor Swift, I have Avril's discography. And I'm not ashamed. Avril is just a more angsty version of Taylor Swift, but I prefer T. Swift hands down.
