Songs he should play: Rock 'n' Roll Star Columbia Married with Children
Songs he shouldn't play: Wonderwall Champagne Supernova Morning Glory (Only with a real good backing singer)

This is amazing news! Strange that the first gig is in Norway not London/Manchester though I think just the fact that it seems he's going to be 'Liam Gallagher' and not some unknown name, that will bring success that beady eye didn't get. He's got the oasis brand that will carry him 👍🏼 Just need a soild album and he's gunna be HUGE! I might have not read through the articles carefully enough but I don't think the Norway gig will be necessarily his first gig, it's just the first one which is already announced. I agree that alone the name 'Liam Gallagher' is much more powerful than the label 'Beady Eye' or actually most other artists. Just look at that, having his name up there looks mighty: Hope we'll hear some new music soon, I'm super excited!

Debut performance in Norway is interesting. You know what else debuted in Norway? The BHN tour. All the more reason for Liam to play BHN in its entirety live.

It just got announced first, not even that actually. We already have that Give A Gig gig in march. Exciting times to be a Liam fanboy like me

Clarification and update:I see that live4ever has posted an article now that seems to be based on my translated quotes . That's cool . Just wanted to point out that the last quote wasn't from the official website as it says in your article, but from the newspaper Bergens Tidende (bt.no). Also, Bergens Tidende have now updated the article and partly changed some of the quotes to using some other ones, so now only parts of the last quote in the live4ever-article can still be found in the original one from Bergens Tidende. The line about him not wanting to share the stage with certain artists are no longer there for example. But I ensure it was there before they changed the article. I have found and translated some new quotes from another newspaper from Bergen ( Bergensavisen) though, that says some of the same things (and some new things as well): "Have you worked for a long time to book Liam Gallagher, Frank Nes?"-" Not really. We have an agent we have contact with, and were actually discussing other names when Liam Gallagher's name came up. It was simply just something we couldn't say no to", the festival chief says. -"And when do you expect to out of tickets for the day he's on the program?"-" Nothing would've been nicer, but at the same time he is not the one who's gonna carry this alone. Now we have announced some different artists from different genres. We have announced 20-25 percent of all the artists now. Some artists will always affect the totality more than others and he's one of them. Those who have a strong relationship to Oasis and Liam Gallagher probably have a strong relationship".Nes continues and tells us that they got the go signal on Gallagher a few weeks ago. -" We have been walking around here smiling in the office the last couple of weeks. It's gonna be nice to be able to tell people now". (Bergensavisen)What the official website for the festival says is this: " Style icon and one of Englands biggest rock stars through the ages - yes, we're talking about Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher. In just a few short years, Liam and his brother, Noel, made Oasis to the planets biggest and most debated bands. "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" and "Definitely Maybe" is britpop-curriculum that most people with just a pinch of musical interest knows in and out. The brothers ways have parted and met multiple times. The last couple of years Liam has been busy with the band, Beady Eye. In 2017 he embarks on the road as a solo artist, Liam Gallagher. Now it's time to fold up the collar of your shirt and comb your hair forward. This is gonna be eventful when this unique frontman comes to Bergen for the first time.
Together with his brother, Noel, Liam Gallagher and their band, Oasis, spearheaded the brit pop movement to stratospheric hights in the 90s. 2017 will see Liam touring as a solo artist and we can’t wait to see what this brilliant singer has in store for us, come June. Concert date will be announced soon." (Official website)Sorry if my first post was unclear about where the second quote came from, I wrote it in a hurry. Hope this helps, and that you also find the new quotes from the newspaper Bergensavisen and the official website interesting Thanks a lot. The source for the quote has been changed from the official website to Bergens Tidende. If the 'sharing the stage' quotes were originally there though they'll be kept in unless someone gives us a good reason why they were removed. Thanks again.

Looks amazing up there on the line ups, he's only got to get his 2013 look again and he's got a chance 😁

Thanks a lot. The source for the quote has been changed from the official website to Bergens Tidende. If the 'sharing the stage' quotes were originally there though they'll be kept in unless someone gives us a good reason why they were removed. Thanks again. No problem, happy to help . I see now that the line about "sharing the stage" and the "when you get a chance to book liam gallagher" were the only ones which were changed it seems. The rest is still in there. And like I showed in the second post with the quotes from the interview in Bergensavisen, the "when you get a chance to book"-quote is almost found in the exact same words there. So it's really just the quote about sharing the stage that isn't found anymore. Bergens Tidende updated their article with quotes from an interview with the guitarist in the new popular band Hjerteslag (he is in an oasis tribute band as well), a band that is from Bergen. They probably just removed some of the quotes either by accident or to get more room for the quotes from the guy from Hjerteslag.

managed somehow to totally miss this, confirms that hes planning to come back in the first half of next year, I expect the other gig is probably true in that case as well which is march so we should get a single by then if hes out performing.
should be hearing the album by may at the latest really.

It's Norway my serbian friend. So no 30+ degrees probably but no parka needed in june and scandinavian girls are lovely

How is the weather in Norway in June? The west coast of Norway is well known for having "a lot of weather". It may go from sun to rain and back again quickly, or sometimes the weather can be "everything at once". Bergen is especially known for having a lot of rainy days. There's a joke in Norway that goes something like this: "How do you know that summer's getting closer in Bergen? The rain gets warmer"

As much as I love scandinavia I don´t think I´ll go to Bergen for a festival Won´t be their only festival together I think.
