Liam has just been booked to play a solo gig at Bergenfest in Bergen, Norway. Both the newspaper Bergens Tidende and the music-website Gaffa has reported about the news. I just checked the website for the festival itself and they have announced it there as well, so it's true. I'll try to update this post with some quotes. " For everyone who loves british rock vocalist and frontman Liam Gallagher is one of the definitivly greatest of the last twenty years. To experience him with his new solo project on the gras at Bergenhus Festning a summer night in june is something we look forward to with a great deal of expectations. It is simply just really fun. Fuck's sake, this is the vocalist of the worlds biggest band from the 90s and 2000s, Oasis, we're talking about here, stated a satisfied festival-chief Frank Nes to Gaffa." (gaffa.no) (online website for music news. Credible) " This is simply just huge. When we get the chance to book Liam Gallagher, you can't say no. We have recieved a list of artists he doesn't want to share the stage with, without me getting too spesific about just that, says Bergenfest-chief Frank Nes. (...) It's amazing that we get the first festival concert. It's a bit of a coincidence, if I have to be honest, but still, says Frank Nes. (...) I'm a bit older than the craziest oasis-fans. But I've always liked the band - and the personalities - well- Liam Gallagher is one of the most prominent vocalists of the last 25-30 years, says Nes." (bt.no) (bergens tidende, newspaper from Bergen, Norway) The date of the concert is not announced yet, but the festival itself is from the 14th to the 17th of june. Edit: corrected the spelling and cleared up where the second quote came from. See my newest post about the latter.

Doesn't this practically guarantee the album will be out in or before June? Unless he's planning on playing only Oasis / Beady Eye songs.
The debut single is imminent!

Please don't skip Finland! There's one festival here who booked New Order, Iggy Pop, Morrissey and other British bands this summer so why not Liam next year

Funny how booking 'Liam Gallagher' already seems like a bigger deal than booking Beady Eye. Or is it me?
Would they have issued a hyperbolic press release like that for Beady Eye?

Would they have issued a hyperbolic press release like that for Beady Eye? 99% of people can't tell the difference between Noel and Liam. Maybe they think that they are hiring talented one :-) Oh, it's that Wonderwall guy, book him to play.

Clarification and update:I see that live4ever has posted an article now that seems to be based on my translated quotes . That's cool . Just wanted to point out that the last quote wasn't from the official website as it says in your article, but from the newspaper Bergens Tidende (bt.no). Also, Bergens Tidende have now updated the article and partly changed some of the quotes to using some other ones, so now only parts of the last quote in the live4ever-article can still be found in the original one from Bergens Tidende. The line about him not wanting to share the stage with certain artists are no longer there for example. But I ensure it was there before they changed the article. I have found and translated some new quotes from another newspaper from Bergen ( Bergensavisen) though, that says some of the same things (and some new things as well): "Have you worked for a long time to book Liam Gallagher, Frank Nes?"-" Not really. We have an agent we have contact with, and were actually discussing other names when Liam Gallagher's name came up. It was simply just something we couldn't say no to", the festival chief says. -"And when do you expect to out of tickets for the day he's on the program?"-" Nothing would've been nicer, but at the same time he is not the one who's gonna carry this alone. Now we have announced some different artists from different genres. We have announced 20-25 percent of all the artists now. Some artists will always affect the totality more than others and he's one of them. Those who have a strong relationship to Oasis and Liam Gallagher probably have a strong relationship".Nes continues and tells us that they got the go signal on Gallagher a few weeks ago. -" We have been walking around here smiling in the office the last couple of weeks. It's gonna be nice to be able to tell people now". (Bergensavisen)What the official website for the festival says is this: " Style icon and one of Englands biggest rock stars through the ages - yes, we're talking about Oasis vocalist Liam Gallagher. In just a few short years, Liam and his brother, Noel, made Oasis to the planets biggest and most debated bands. "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" and "Definitely Maybe" is britpop-curriculum that most people with just a pinch of musical interest knows in and out. The brothers ways have parted and met multiple times. The last couple of years Liam has been busy with the band, Beady Eye. In 2017 he embarks on the road as a solo artist, Liam Gallagher. Now it's time to fold up the collar of your shirt and comb your hair forward. This is gonna be eventful when this unique frontman comes to Bergen for the first time.
Together with his brother, Noel, Liam Gallagher and their band, Oasis, spearheaded the brit pop movement to stratospheric hights in the 90s. 2017 will see Liam touring as a solo artist and we can’t wait to see what this brilliant singer has in store for us, come June. Concert date will be announced soon." (Official website)Sorry if my first post was unclear about where the second quote came from, I wrote it in a hurry. Hope this helps, and that you also find the new quotes from the newspaper Bergensavisen and the official website interesting

This is amazing news!
Strange that the first gig is in Norway not London/Manchester though
I think just the fact that it seems he's going to be 'Liam Gallagher' and not some unknown name, that will bring success that beady eye didn't get. He's got the oasis brand that will carry him 👍🏼
Just need a soild album and he's gunna be HUGE!
