www.nme.com/news/music/liam-gallagher-oasis-first-solo-gig-announced-1878153 Details of Liam Gallagher‘s debut solo performance have been revealed. The former Oasis frontman announced back in August that he is set to release a solo album next year, saying that he will “probably fuck off forever” if the record fails. Gallagher had previously denied reports that he was releasing a solo album, saying that he wouldn’t do so because he’s “not a c*nt”. He later tweeted: “It’s official, I’m a c*nt”. Music Week now reports that Gallagher will perform a Give a Gig Week show for music charity Youth Music at London’s Bush Hall on March 28, 2017, as part of a bill that also includes Jess Glynne, Tom Odell and Plan B. Give a Gig Week runs next year from March 24-31, held at London venues such as Bush Hall, Shepherd’s Bush Empire, The Bedford, The Roundhouse and Hard Rock Café.

I wonder if he will play something new. Will it be full band? Acoustic? Just My Generation?

Whose fucking great idea was this?!

Didn't Tom Odell once say that Oasis are boring and Adele is more of a rockstar than either of the Gallagher brothers?
I hope our Liam lamps him one backstage.

"You won't print that, will you? I can't make enemies like that just yet." What was that Liam's always nattering on about, pop stars these days being afraid of controversy lest it harms their careers?... He may be about as full of shit as his self-proclaimed "gobshite" brother, but you've gotta say Liam's got a point here. God, what a fucking bore. He gets a record contract, and he uses it to make wishy-washy MOR pap; somehow his stuff catches fire in some circles, and he uses his newfound celebrity status to preach about issues of equality. Typical millennial twat. My generation deserves a better class of pop star than the likes of him.

hopefully we can assume that his album will be at least officially announced along with the first single around that time if hes in a position to go out and perform under his own name with his own band instead of joining another band like the who for a super group thing.
he might not necessarily be performing new material but if hes beginning to get moving with live performances again then his album probably wont be far off.
with events like this hes probably only going to do one or two songs I should think, could get a new one and an oasis cover I guess.

seems like a strange thing to be false, wonder if the other acts are not true either, because if they are all confirmed then it would be abit odd for Liam to have been placed on there if hes not had anything to do with it, if the whole thing is false then yea it probably is otherwise mustve come from somewhere, unless they dont want Liams potential plans being put out before the albums announced and finalized etc as at this stage things could change.
if Liam really does want his album recorded by the end of this year like he said then march could be a realistic time he would start promoting it however I dont see being finished this year as he hadnt started recording when supersonic came out.

For some reason I think Liam's album is closer than we think. A question: would it be better promotion to release suddenly an single and a week later the album, or announce it all, then a single and a month later the album? I think it would be better to release it by suprise.

I think it will probably be a standard release window of say BE tbh, one song then a month or two before release, I feel in this day and age, albums should drop right away basically, nothing is really gained from waiting months, people get bored and move on to other things. had he wanted to do a surprise release I doubt he wouldve confirmed anything.

Can't say I'm all that excited really. I am intrigued but excited? not sure on that, Im very cautious as to what its going to be like, with Liams love for lennon esque songs etc Im worried its going to have a DGSS vibe and I really dont want another Liam record simply trying to imitate something like that again, people arnt interested in it. I really hope its great but Im also hoping someones told him he needs to modernise abit, I feel Noels managed to keep his tunes fresh like BOTMI but even on BE a lot of the tunes were still sitting in that retro sound area. plus theres the thing of choruses which REALLY need to be addressed here, his tunes mostly always lack that hook. really depends for me whether Liams learned from past mistakes or whether its more of the same.

Can't say I'm all that excited really. Sound. You're a big Liam fan aren't you universalgleam? I don't understand why you wouldn't be excited to see what he does next, whether that's getting excited to see what songs make up the new setlist or hearing the first single for the first time, it's incredibly exciting!

I don't understand why you wouldn't be excited to see what he does next, whether that's getting excited to see what songs make up the new setlist or hearing the first single for the first time, it's incredibly exciting! oh yea massive mate, Ive always been willing Liam on to do well and still am. Ive always felt Liam could be a much better songwriter than he has been with some more effort and help. I also feel this is basically Liams last chance to get somewhere outside of oasis, if this tanks hard because Liams taken a misstep in the tone of his album then Liams not got really got anymore avenues to explore and that could really be it until Noel gives in to an oasis reunion if he ever does which is shitty. We know from beady eye that a poor debut album is hard to come back from. we all know that Liam in some way craves success, hes not just happy with making music, I want Liam to get some satisfaction out of this to will him to carry on which in turn gives us more material. Liams got that old school rock attitude and I would love to see him bring that into something fresh and modern than simply retread john lennon stuff which quite honestly isnt going to get him anywhere in 2016. I want to listen to the first song and feel impressed rather than "its good but its the same old thing" aka richard ashcroft "this is how it feels", this is a good time to create something new. To say Im not excited was probably understating myself, I think its a case of trying not to build my hopes too high tbh then at least Im not going to get a SBOTA styled disappointment after the great build of FOTF. I simply dont want to see Liam fail because of his perception of whats rock n roll, you can still be rock n roll and be modern. Same with getting people to help him, dont fail simply because your ego is too big to just accept that maybe you might benefit from having another person to create your choruses or whatever, many many singers co write, much as he hates robbie williams, look at all the hits that guy has had with the help of co writers like guy chambers or also coincidentally has released a song recently with the help of johnny mcdaid which I believe Liam was rumoured to be working with at one time, nothing wrong with it.

I think it will be fine, of course he will get slagged of because his first name isn't Noel. I like DGSS, and I prefer BE above CY.
Post-Oasis: 1. NGHFB 2. BE 3. DGSS-CY
I think Noel is at his best writing Oasis songs (most songs off NGHFB sound like Oasis songs).

When Noel debuted BOTMI in January of 2015, it truly blew me away. I still get chills listening to it. I really hope Liam's new effort has the same effect. Those pub songs were ok but something like FOTF was really impressive.
