A genuine question, does anyone know what instruments Liam can play? He can strum an acoustic guitar but can he play riffs and solos, can he play a bit of piano etc? I'm struggling to think of how he can write an interesting album on his own.

Oasis reused loads of phrase which are in common usage. But "universal gleam" isn't a common phrase - it's some nonsense Liam invented. Liam actually got it from...wait for it....a john lennon story. Asked to explain what, exactly, ‘Universal Gleam’ means, Gallagher explained: “‘Universal Gleam’ was when John [Lennon] and George [Harrison] met up with [Beatles publicist] Derek Taylor when Brian Epstein died. They went to meet him and he just said that they had a universal gleam about them. . Liam wanted to name the second Beady Eye album 'Universal Gleam'.

this could suggest then that Liams the sole writer for the album? Im only seeing "1 writer" on them all except that prodigy track and the beady eye stuff. could be abit worrying. Eh, I'm not so sure about that. DGSS finished recording in November (2010) and was released in February (2011). That wasn't the best sign. Let's keep the positive vibes going people.Well, I'm not going to ignore that DGSS happened. Nor am I going to say that this is like DGSS in quality. Just a comparative of a similar turnaround. So, don't see what exactly is "negative."

I'm struggling to think of how he can write an interesting album on his own. Don't know how accurate that is but Wikipedia has guitar, piano, harmonica (and tambourine ) listed.

Maybe Universal Gleam is FotF but with a real chorus. That would be pretty cool to have two versions of a song.

Liam actually got it from...wait for it....a john lennon story. Liam wanted to name the second Beady Eye album 'Universal Gleam'. that is correct, that john lennon story is Liams explanation into why he wanted to call the album as such and where the wording came from. ive never been keen on "BE", thats essentially a self titled album which wouldve been better suited on DGSS though it was probably their idea of rebooting the band as Liam essentially admitted DGSS was abit of a misstep. its just kind of amusing that of course universal gleam came from something related to john lennon and of course Liam wanted to get that in as much as possible, flick of the finger, the album and now maybe a whole song because JOHN LENNON. as its been said before, im outta time is lennon without lennon but Liam just had to include the audio sample at the end for good measure because its john lennon and people might not know, its like when you fancy someone like margot robbie and cant stop talking about them guigsysEstring

Years ago I speculated that the Universal Gleam came from that reference: live4ever.proboards.com/post/1034368/thread...and people jumped all over me as being ridiculous to make a Beatles connection. I was very pleased later when Liam did an interview and actually verified that was where he got the name.

I remember Liam saying in some recent interview that he had a new song called Over... Maybe he changed the title?
