Hi bastardnumber1 yeah it would be great to find this but, as far as I know, researchers working on the docu carefully checked all the off-air recordings of the Telethon programme (running to many hours) and there was no Oasis footage in there. And James McDonald confirms in his Archive Zones article that there's no Oasis Telethon clips in Granada's archive either. There was footage of other bands on the same stage though. And I also recall Shirl saying that Oasis may have appeared twice that day, which could explain the daylight photos in Bonehead's scrapbook. I seem to recall that they were also going to check the cameraman's rushes to see if that contained the un-transmitted material we're after. But I'm not sure what the outcome of that research was. I'm assuming that it hasn't been found though. I'll ask Shirl if she had any luck checking her tapes. Oh I didn´t want to say that researchers did a bad job, and I´m sure you guys checked everything that´s known already but maybe there is something not checked... I just googled a lot today to find at least a program schedule or anything about it but there isn´t a lot. Is there any chance that they gave away footage to BBC for Children In Need? Or maybe that London Week Television who hosted the Telethon have an own archive? Sorry for the stupid questions btw

Slightly O.T but does anyone remember a Beady Eye magazine interview where Liam said something along the lines of 'its just me and our kid who've got the arse with each other, not the others' I think it was NME or something like that, either 2011 or '13. Anyone know? Really want to find it and read it again.

Or maybe that London Week Television who hosted the Telethon have an own archive? Sorry for the stupid questions btw No worries, no need to apologise, and rest assured they're not stupid questions at all! It's worth looking at all these different angles on it. As far as television programme schedules go - for the BBC there is a brilliant resource called BBC Genome, which covers all the programmes listed in the Radio Times from 1923 to 2009. The Radio Times started listing ITV programmes from 1991 onwards, but these are not included in the Genome site. Even if they were, I am doubtful that they would be detailed enough to include a full list of the acts featured. The listing would probably have had a basic summary of the main programme segments for the evening. And then each region of ITV would have their own contributions to the Telethon, which would be reflected in regional variants of the Radio Times. I guess you could obtain a copy of the Radio Times published for the area served by Granada in that week. Either that, or go to the British Library and check their archive of listings magazines. Local newspaper listings may have had more detailed listings of what was scheduled for broadcast, but probably not in the detail we're after. The segment in which Oasis were due to appear might be listed, but not their appearance itself. And, as far as I can tell, their scheduled appearance wasn't broadcast. So the only possibility would seem to be that the cameraman might have retained his tapes, including material not broadcast. This seems a remote possibility, all these years later. You'd think if the cameraman did keep them then they would have turned up by now, on a "before they were famous" type show. Pure speculation on my part, but if he did have the tapes back then... only 4 years after the Telethon he could have capitalised on Oasismania by approaching a newspaper or TV show with a videotape. Equally, he might have just put the tapes into storage and forgotten about them until now. Pure speculation on my part of course - just floating different theories here. Interesting point regarding LWT. I assume that their archive was amongst the material comprehensively searched by James M though, alongside Granada's archive.

Just throwing my two cents here... I think that questions about the new album are kinda pointless - we'll know everything needed about it soon anyway, and he's answers would be the buy if you like, don't buy if you don't like kind of thing. It's the perfect opportunity to ask things about the past, like about DIV recording sessions or anything, instead of things about the new album/tour which will be asked in other interviews anyway.

I understand what you mean and we want to make it not the typical interview but we for sure will talk about the new album. Depending on how far he is until then and what he can say about it already it will be a bigger or a smaller part. But yeah we will also ask about stuff that hasn't been asked yet and hope to get more than a "can't rememeber anything about it"

As long as we get an idea of when we will first hear something I'll be happy. Whether that's a preview of a song or the first radio play of his new single.

Just a thought on any future anthology I know he won't know of any plans as I would assume it would be Noel and his management but it might be interesting to know of a few songs that he had a go at singing like Sad Song for example.

I'd be interested to know if there are unreleased Oasis songs which he sang on: Oasis songs were usually demoed with Noel on vocals (except of course for songs that Liam wrote), & Liam's vocals were added at the very end, possibly just before mixing.
So I wonder if there are almost finalized songs which he sang on that were ditched at the last minute & have never been released (i.e. didn't make it as b-sides nor with Noel's vocals eventually replacing Liam's, as was the case for "Sad song").
Another question for him: we know he wrote songs with Bonehead at the beginning of the band, when they were still called The Rain; then in 2000 one of his tunes finally made it onto an Oasis album. But in between, from 1991 when Noel joined the band & became the sole songwriter up to 1998, did he keep writing songs? "Little James" wasn't the only song he had written in 1999, but did he regularly write songs on his own during the past 7 years (& if so, did he submit any to Noel before the "SOTSOG" sessions?), or did he stop for a few years when Noel was the only one in charge of the songwriting & only got back to it after the "Be here now tour" for example?

Little By Little, Sunday Morning Call have been mentioned and obviously Sad Song and Lord Don't Slow Me Down. It wouldn't surprise me if there were others.

Yeah I'd be really interested to hear what songs he's had a go at singing and for whatever reason they scrapped them. Would be brilliant to know there is Liam sung stuff in the vault somewhere because at the moment we don't really have a lot to go on.

Seems like Step Out was another track that Liam sang initially, although I doubt that a copy of his take survived. asimarx recently shared these great pics from the Chasing the Sun exhibition, including some of the tracking sheets from the Morning Glory recording session. imgur.com/a/K24CdRandom thing I noticed on the Step Out sheet - tracks 16 and 17 of the multitrack contain lead and double-tracked vocals for the chorus. In the right hand corner of both tracks (in fainter black pen) Owen Morris adds: "Liam - not master". On track 19 if you zoom in, you can just see "LIAM VOCAL" NOELS LEAD NOT MASTERI take from this that Liam probably sang an initial take of Step Out, which they abandoned. His vocal was then wiped and Noel's vocal was recorded on the same track. If that's right, I assume that Liam's version is lost. Unless they made a rough mix of it.

Not sure if this will interest many people but:
Can we expect any future live albums / DVDs / Box Sets? In particular Finsbury Park?
He may not have much say but though I'd ask anyway.

I would like to know if he's aware of just how much proper Oasis fans LOVE Be Here Now and all those amazing songs in their back catalogue that never get much love in the set lists.
I love how in the 2001-02 tour, Oasis brought back a bunch of songs we'd not heard in a very long time: Step Out, Fade Away, Morning Glory, Columbia, Slide Away, She's Electric, The Masterplan, Half the World Away, Married with Children, Hello, DYKWIM, etc.
