To add to this, he will be wanting to prove Noel wrong about the comments he made about Liam's voice in the interviews he did last year. Come on Liam! What did Noel say about his voice? He said that Liam can't sing anymore. That everything after 1996 was "just shouting".

Produced by 'the band' Everything in lower case looks so early 00s now. It's not a stylistic choice that has aged well... (...a bit like the musical content on there, then!) That didn't AGE well, it never WAS well to start with! (Finsbury was great however!)

I think 95% of people are, we all no what Noel is gunna do, he's gunna release a solid album but nothing knew. Liam we have absolutely no idea and it's really exciting. "earlier on today apparently a woman rang the BBC and said she heard that Noel was carrying on with a solid amount of plod, if your watching, dont worry he isnt, having said that actually the sound will become very mid paced" *cue an incredibly regular album with huge amounts of plod* Exclusive recording footage of Noel's new album!

I agree there's much much more intrigue to this than a Noel album (de ja vu now with hyperbole every three years about it being 'eclectic' and then you find out it really isn't anything but the same mid tempo guitar sludge). And much more intrigue than Beady Eye - we kind of knew what to expect given the fact Andy, Gem and Liam had all written for Oasis anyway.
Being brutally honest, this is ideally what he should have done after Oasis split. A fresh page with professional team around him to support him. Beady Eye were just the dying embers of Oasis, this is something completely different. And that's good.

From 2000, or from an interview last year with La Nacion he was quoted as follows by Oasis Mania:- I haven't seen the original article so I don't know how accurate that quote is though.

plus when Liam said he hated singing wonderwall in about 2008, Noel said "its alright I hate him singing it now as well"
Noel fires them shots like no-ones business.

This is another "what if" but I do wonder how things might have panned out if a less medicated and more assertive Noel had quit Oasis permanently in 2000 to embark on a solo career (which had been suggested to him since Knebworth) leaving his brother to decide his future. Without having spent a decade in a band with Andy Bell and Gem Archer it is entirely possible he may have gone solo as well at a time when he was still at the tail end of daily/weekly mainstream media interest, which could well have helped him launch a successful career. It is equally possible of course he would have formed another band with ex-Oasis or new band mates and had anything from Beady Eye to Oasis type success from that, but it would have been an interesting era to have been coming out of Oasis.

Liam continuing on with Oasis band members was always going to be rough sledding and a tough sale to the public. Oasis without Noel Gallagher was the constant quote and it did them zero favors. Liam needed a complete break. Sure Gem or Andy could feature on some tracks but he needed to forge his own path in the world. I'm interested in Liam Gallagher. Not so much Gem or Andy.

What are ýou talking?? They did a whole album tour without one single Oasis song and did what, 3 Oasis songs on their 2nd tour? It didn´t help any of their careers, especially not Liams but it also didn´t do any harm I think. They did what they wanted and maybe had to do (again especially Liam), trying it without Noel. Will be a lot different now and not easy for Liam, but he will do fine I guess.

I dont see much point in playing an oasis song like morning glory and leaving out large parts because the guy isnt there to sing them, nearly half the song is "wellll" get someone else to sing those parts or dont play the song, you dont see Noel leaving out parts, theres loads of songs to sing without glaring holes where Noel sings, same with the falsettos in live forever, no-one sang them "oh yea Noels not here" they actually started playing oasis tracks about 3/4 through the first tour, this is after Liam made solid claims that they wouldnt be playing any, you must see that it looks abit weak to be suddenly playing them and not only that but songs that Noel wrote, why not play their own oasis songs? it just screams "things havnt gone as well as planned" Noel plays oasis tunes and so can Liam but Liam was the one who made the statements that they wouldnt be playing them as it was a new band. It would be absolutely ridiculous to play Oasis songs and then Beady Eye songs. It would be schizophrenic. Or phrenic. Or phonic. They won't want to hear Oasis songs by the time we finish with them. then gem “It just feels wrong. This is not Oasis. We love Oasis, we love what Oasis was, but it would be wrong to take those songs and play them as Beady Eye, because Beady Eye is not Oasis.”

No they didn't. They didn't play any Oasis songs until their gig at Warrington which was a warm up for supporting The Roses. It was nothing to do with that first tour, they did a couple of other festivals around that time but they were pretty much one offs where they debuted World's Not Set In Stone.

^^
What Oasis songs did they perform on the first tour?
The first Oasis song I can remember them doing was Wonderwall at the London Olympics. I'm sure after that on the BE tour it was Rock 'n' Roll Star and Morning Glory for the gigs around the album launch and then two of Live Forever, Cigarettes & Alcohol, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova were rotated for the remaining dates.
The crowd sang the "missing" Noel bits at both the Glasgow gigs I was at.

And I don´t see see much point in doing songs without the actual singer. So we have different opinons which is fine. But Beady Eye did not do an Oasis song during their DGSS tour and I give them a lot of respect for that because they left out what made them famous (Liam). But yeah all the talking that doing Oasis songs is wrong was no good choice.

To add to this, he will be wanting to prove Noel wrong about the comments he made about Liam's voice in the interviews he did last year. Come on Liam! he released BE with a more honest sound to prove he could still sing and that didnt really do much to change peoples opinions, Id say he was probably more on form overall during the tour compared to previous tours but again not to the extent that would make people say "wow this guy can still really sing". all Im saying is I dont question Liams want and desire to sing better but hes got his limits now, theres only good he can sound, he showed up on TFI to sing my generation, that was about a year and half of literally no singing and he still sounded pretty weak for a fully rested Liam, he cant simply reverse years of damage and come out singing like its 2001 again. I hope he does deliver a really good vocal but Im sure Im going to see some comments like "I hoped he would sound better than this" with overzealous expectations. point is is Liam even physically capable of producing a vocal somewhere even close to what he could? I like to hope so but I do doubt it. Come on man, positive thoughts, positive vibes and all that! I don't think anyone is expecting him to sound like he did in 2001 but he definitely still has the ability to pull off some great vocals when he is on form, all we can ask off him is that he tries his best. Before the BE tour even began you could tell he wasn't happy, he did a radio interview before he played The Ritz in Manchester, one of the very first gigs of the tour and he was upset that they had to play small venues like that when Robbie Williams was selling out the Etihad. That frustration resulted in some very angry and half arsed vocal performances throughout the tour. I'd like to think he's a bit more realistic and humble now, he's already confirmed for a few smaller festivals in the summer which when he was in Beady Eye, he probably would of thought they were to big for them and rejected them. Let's just see what happens eh?

I really don't see the problem with them playing a couple Oasis songs, if they would of made up half their set of Oasis songs then yeah, that would of been a big problem. As Oasis fans why wouldn't we want to see Liam sing the songs we love anyway? Them comments were right at the start of the DGSS cycle, they were full of hope and optimism that Beady Eye were going to take off and be very successful, unfortunately it didn't work out like that so they changed their minds, not a big deal really is it?

While I don't think Liam's much use live, I still think he nails it in the studio and still much preferable to Noel's voice. And while Noel's voice is fine, hearing that solid but unremarkable voice over a whole album can be quite frankly dull.

I'd be very surprised if there was many people pissed off because Noel wasn't there to sing Wellllllllllll a few times. Liam has made it quite clear why they carried on, he loves being in a band rather than a solo man with guns for hire. I'm surprised you would offer that given the evidence to the contrary.

I suppose Noel was telling it like it is but he's a bit of a vagina Noel may very well be a vagina, but not for this. Liam's "singing" was awful for YEARS and Noel never said anything. He always had his back in that department. Maybe you're of the opinion that Noel should keep his mouth shut because of how much money he made during those years? I disagree but to each their own. In my mind, Liam's the vagina for letting his voice turn to shit. (All that being said, I am anxiously awaiting his solo album and hopeful about its quality!)
