Choose your three favourites of the year. No Oasis to make it more interesting (we all know that Definitely Maybe is the best album of 1994 and one of the best albums ever).

Excluding Definitely Maybe I'd say it was either The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails or Teenager of the Year by Frank Black.

Illmatic His 'n' Hers SAW Vol. II
I definitely think this is more interesting without Oasis, I'm quite intrigued to see what's gonna win this.

Parklife Dookie Second Coming
I've haven't heard anything else from His 'n' Hers than Do You Remember The First Time? so I couldn't vote it.
E: Changed Purple to Second Coming.

1. Vauxhall and I (I'd give all 3 spots to this masterpiece) 2. Second Coming (despite the criticism I love this album) 3. Nirvana MTV Unplugged (if it counts, if not then Parklife I guess)

Another excellent list.
But I'd choose Parklife, Vauxhall & I and Selected Ambient Works II. Purely for staying power and nostalgia for the first two, its not a cliche to suggest they are the best albums for both. Clover Over Dover and This Is A Low are two of Blur's best songs, and Speedway is arguably Morrissey's finest solo song.
Selected Ambient Works II is mesmerising too - I found it trawling around YouTube for ambient tunes and this one came up as a recommendation.
Just unbelievably genius. It made me go straight on to Amazon and order a copy.

Definitely Weezer's debut.
To be honest, I don't think they've ever topped it, even with the very personal and hard-hitting Pinkerton & some good recent releases. Their debut is jam-packed full of some of the band's best power pop songwriting that gets infused with a little bit of punk and some acoustic guitars to sound fantastic.
Others worth mentioning:
Superunknown by Soundgarden (seminal grunge era record) Second Coming by The Stone Roses, Monster by R.E.M., Smash by The Offspring (had a couple of their biggest hits on it), Ill Communication by Beastie Boys, and Throwing Copper by Live (had the beautiful, beautiful Lightning Crashes on it)

forgot bout Ill Communication being released in '94! it's now in my top 3. Smash was pretty fucking good back in the day... havent listened to it since 98 though Throwing Copper had 3 (or was it 4) strong singles on it and I'll just leave this here... great album for sure

There are a ton of indie rock albums that I still listen to from this year. Bush - Sixteen Stone Sponge - Rotting Pinata Aerosmith - Big Ones The Meat Puppets - To High To Die just a few to go along with everything you mention.

1. The Holy Bible 2. Dog Man Star 3. Weezer From time to time I hear the holy bible and there's good stuff in there some of the best manics songs are in this álbum(and the one that follows), but the lyrical content is quite disturbing. I wonder how the radio edit for the 4th single(reportedlly to be Yes) would've been worked. "He's a boy you wanted a girl so you cut his *beep*"? 😂

I can imagine it being banned from radio/other public media outlets and getting a ton of publicity for it. Surprise hit?

Illmatic is ridiculously good, would probably be in my top 20 albums ever.
