Felt like we were really needing a thread like this one. Well, I actually like Girls In Uniform, and from what I've seen, lots of people dislike it... can't truly feel sure about "total dislike" but yeah, I have still not seen anyone who likes it.

Agree on this. Possibly my favourite Beady Eye song and pisses on the universally lauded Evil Eye from some distance.

Magic Pie Fade In/Out (I know people like this, but I think it's one of the very best things they ever did) To Be Where There's Life Step Out

I Can See A Liar. I think it's great, especially the live versions that are out there.

"Songs you love but everyone does not love"?
For someone who so often professes to be cleverer than everyone else, your wording's a bit ropey there, eh, Nigel?

Magic Pie Fade In/Out (I know people like this, but I think it's one of the very best things they ever did) To Be Where There's Life Step Out Yep. Definitely fond of all of those. (Nice to see Magic Pie has grown on you, by the way. What's your favourite part of the song?) --- Personally, I'm really keen on EVERYTHING from the Be Here Now-era stuff. So I guess that means I'm adding (I Got) The Fever, My Sister Lover, The Fame, and Flashbax to the list...

I like the fuzzy keyboards at the start of Magic Pie, and as soon as all those backing vocals come in, it's properly good. I was listening to the Be Here Now b-sides this morning, and I'm very love/hate about a lot of them...I feel like there's great tunes in The Fever and Sister Lover, but they got lost somehow.

I was listening to the Be Here Now b-sides this morning, and I'm very love/hate about a lot of them...I feel like there's great tunes in The Fever and Sister Lover, but they got lost somehow. I think Fever's ace. There's lots of great guitar work on there, from Noel, and there's an element of fun about it you don't see really anywhere else in the Be Here Now era (except maybe on the improvised ending to Magic Pie) - you have the piano glissando just after the first chorus, and Noel's quoting The Fast Show at the end: " Jazz! Niiiiiiiiice..." But undoubtedly, the mix does need a good clean up. The sibilance from those cymbals, and Liam's vocal on the chorus, is really quite overbearing. By comparison, I think My Sister Lover is much better produced. The drums and bass come out better, and the prominent piano at various points, helps give the song a darker feel than you might normally expect an Oasis record to have. But even so, I'm sure the production still covers up a lot. Certainly, a lot of the guitar from the Mustique demo - if it made it to the final cut - got lost in there somewhere. And, obviously with that song, you have the issue of the chorus being a bit blah, and it being a minute or so longer than it probably needs to be (though, I think Noel's swaggering lead guitar just about gets the song through). So maybe I don't love those tunes, necessarily. But I definitely do think there's a lot to like in them.

Hey Now! (3rd favorite track on the album, best lyrics as well) Sunday Morning Call (Overproduced a bit but I've always loved the lyrics) 'Heroes' (It's not as pronounced as Bowie's version, but I like the euphoric production that embodies it)

I remember this doing the rounds and pissing everyone off but I thought it was a banger I've got bad memories involving this. I had to run a marathon thingie for school and that had just been released and that so called "song" got played over and over and over.. The original is better, but still a rather annoying song.

Shakermaker...apparently... I enjoy playing this one on the guitar (always sing the Coke verse), but I find listening to the album version tedious when I know Live Forever is next.
