Don't you think NGHFB songs are less rock n roll than Oasis? I guess the song genre would be Brit-pop which is not rock. What would the third album sound like?
I think this thread doesn't make sense, but I'm just too lazy to fix it...

LP1 was baroque pop, LP2 was pop-rock with jazz and dance influences. I'll tell you what style LP3 is when I hear it.

Don't agree too much on baroque pop for first LP but I really wish he would do a full baroque pop album. Could be mega. Someething in the vein of The Divine Comedy or early B&S he has the ability. Add to that a bit of jazz/psychedelic influences, and that's perfect. Can't stand his dance influenced stuff.

It's chock full of horns and orchestras and choirs...it's all pretty baroque to my ears. And his dance songs are my favourites

And his dance songs are my favourites I do agree that some songs have strong baroque influences, TDOYAM and SB&JF, in particular (and guess what, these are my favourites ) but I don't know, Sardy's treatment on most of the songs make me more think of FM Pop orchestrated. But it must be me being pernickety ahah I would like to see a more refined baroque approach (like the one on Soldier Boys, my fav song on NGHFB). A record in the style of The Boy with The Arab Strap would be like...awesome.

It's the exact fucking same as Oasis sans Liam's vox.
And I'm okay with that.

When I think of baroque pop, HFB1 is definitely NOT an album that comes to mind.

Eleanor Rigby and Viva la Vida are baroque pop songs. If you don't know what baroque pop is.

Vampire Weekend and The Last Shadow Puppets are good examples of contemporary bands that have made songs that would be classified as baroque pop.

Lana Del Rey also fits into the category from time to time.

When I think of baroque pop, HFB1 is definitely NOT an album that comes to mind. True. The nearest thing Noel did to Baroque pop is probably Going Nowhere, and that's just the very start of the song ha. Edit: sorry for the bump, i somehow ended up in this thread not realising it's pretty old.

HFBs is less rock n roll than oasis because Liam sang the rock n roll songs.
when you remove the Liam sung songs in oasis, his solo material isnt far off what he was singing there tbh.
