didnt liam do a version of dlba or was that a myth? well no seems conflicting though, owen morris said he didnt, it seems like the choice was made who would sing what and that was it, the only thing Liam may have done is a run through that wasnt official so to speak eg not in the studio as a potential final recording that morris was involved in. however Noel said to MOJO in 1997: “When I gave [Liam] ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ he’s singing ‘But don't back in anger, not today’. I’m saying, It’s ‘don't look back in anger’. ‘He’s saying, ‘Well, that’s not what’s fuckin’ written ‘ere, Chief.’” like I said he may have sung in a room with Noel playing acoustic guitar or something it but not in any recorded capacity that we would hear.

I know people will just say "oh oasis management again" but can someone tell me the logic behind keeping Liams version of sad song for essentially background music on a documentary instead of the definetely maybe remaster?
People were always going to want to see the doc, unheard liam versions are surely going to bump up any sales of releases?

If they knew it existed in 2014 then they probably decided to keep it back for a future release. Or like you said: "oh oasis management again"

Looks like they didn't really know how to handle it and didn't really look at what the fans want, which they soon learned and looks like they have done that for the BHN reissue. Also, need to have something left for eventual 25th, 30th, 40th etc. anniversaries. Spreading it earns more money instead of blowing the load all at once.

I'm soooo jealous. Fuck all of you lucky bastards who are living in the UK Some of us aren't in the UK 😊 in the clogland. Highlight for me last night was Sad Song. I was like "what? oh my god". Good good people from management, will you be kind enough to release this one sometime in the future? (no, you won't). And a girl in the cinema told us before the doc started "there will be a meet&greet afterwards with....ahm, a guy from Oasis". Do your homework, kid.

It is always possible it was genuinely forgotten about and only unearthed when they were researching old stuff for the film. Looking at how completely wasted the band, their studio team and their management were during most of the 90s it's not inconceivable!

Can´t get that extra footage out of my head. Mat said there IS a 7 hours cut, right? (Including Newcastle incident I think). So what would make the costs when it already is done?
Btw I found 2 clips of the film on youtube if someone is interested:

Btw I found 2 clips of the film on youtube if someone is interested: I thought they were going to talk about the Newcastle gig. There's a bit where they say that people starting coming to gigs to have a pop at them, but then they don't elaborate any further and then move onto the next topic. I guess that's where the Newcastle stuff was cut.

note to self should I ever conduct a Q&A
1. always have chairs, standing is awkward. 2. always have lights available, audience shouldnt require night vision. 3. should room be too dark ensure all participants are not wearing sunglasses for safety reasons. 4. always ask questions that arnt shit so the thing isnt a waste of everybodys time. 5. if audience starts shouting out stupid shit have lads with tasers on hand to keep it civil.
also that quote about Liam being a dog and Noel being a cat in the Q interview mustve been nicked from Noel in the film, Liam yah jammy bastard.

That Director's cut is ripe for a Kickstarter campaign. It doesn't move forward unless they get the money they need. You invest at different levels, and that determines what you get - DVD, screening with director etc.

Imagine if the legendary Liam sung dlbia is on the 7 hour cut?!

No matter how many times people are told that there is no Liam sung DLBIA you'll still have two people five minutes later talking about it.
No the Liam Sad Song doesn't prove anything as we never had any confirmation that that didn't exist .

That bit in Q was in relation to the movie, Liam commenting on a few key scenes. Liam just expanded Noel's idea. And thanks to him now I have to fight against mental pictures of Noel licking himself. Mind bleach please! But actually, that might be the best way ever to describe their different personalities. Right to the fact that Noel lives in awe of his cat and wanted rid of the dog from the start. BTW, what happened to Tommy-the-dog??? As for the Q&A, I'm grateful to the one who recorded it and put it online. MEN was very cruel, they announced a livestream and then could not get it to work. Maybe it was not the best of interviews, but I just enjoyed seeing Liam talking and laughing. And him and Bonehead together promise great things for the lucky people that go to that Radio X thing. Oh, and hearing Liam talking in not good quality and still understanding most of it makes me very proud of my English. Should put that into my CV.

I don't generally care what people look like, but Liam's hair dreadful!
I'd rather he was bald.

www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p048gx3tMike Sweeney on BBC Radio Manchester of this morning. At 1:33 he briefly speaks about the movie and then talks to Rowetta of Happy Mondays who outs herself as a dog person and talks about the movie and yesterday's showing, where she was present.

To be fair, the truth is none of us know 100% for sure either way. Owen Morris does though. I was always taught in GCSE history to question the veracity of sources of information. Owen is Noel's friend. Maybe Noel doesn't want it known that Liam sang on his most famous anthem? Maybe Owen just forgot? Maybe someone else recorded a quick take, not Owen? (My own opinion is that it's highly unlikely there is a recording btw, I just don't think anyone on here can say it doesn't exist with 100% confidence).

Saw it at a preview in London last night. It's GREAT. Absolutely hilarious at times. It's great to see the old line-up and especially the Brothers back in happier times and getting on well, laughing and joking behind the scenes.
Story skips straight past 'The Battle of Britpop' like it never even happened. Also Noel getting smacked onstage in Newcastle notable by its absence.
Interesting stuff from Liam on how he would have to sit out gigs due to his voice failing, down to "the way I sing 'em" and also "maybe caning it a bit too much". The closest I've ever heard him come to discussing his voice changing, though at the Q&A afterwards he still insisted his voice is "mega". Interesting though in that it sort of pitches these throat problems as the main reason Noel started taking on vocals - whilst it may be true that this contributed, it does avoid Noel's own personal ambitions to sing, which let's be honest were there right from the first single.
BIG NEWS: There's a version of Sad Song with Liam on vocals! Where has this been hiding all these years?! Needs a release ASAP.
5 stars. Go and see it!
