Noel etc must read this forum, I mean they got to at some point, this is the dream factory. I doubt Noel does but I'm sure the management check in every now and again.

Was lucky enough to see this at Manchester Odeon Printworks. Loved it.
So much to take in- great stories illustrated with some amazing archive footage. The new interviews were hilarious and really did bring back how huge Oasis were in the 90s.
Liam singing Sad Song - wow! Wish that had been on the Definitely Maybe reissue.
The King Tut's audio sounded great - probably a new restoration from Mark Coyle's cassette? In fact all the gig clips sounded huge in the cinema. They have a powerful sound system there - the intro to Columbia shook the foundations with its heavy bass. I liked how they cross faded from that to the clip of them in the Boardwalk.

Mark Coyle was one of the stars of the show, for me. I love his drawling voice. He said something that made me laugh, just about every time he spoke. And as has been said, him describing the ferry-to-Amsterdam story was absolute gold.

Anyone know why Phil Smith left as a roadie around Morning Glory? And also what year did he rejoin them (as a dj I think) as he's in the LDSMD film.

The only thing missing from this evening was that you couldn't buy Knebworth when you walked out the door. Yeah but looking at that HD footage tonight mate and how much footage they have of it I've got a feeling you will be able to buy it soon 😉

I hope they will do this properly: Both nights on dvd/blu-ray. A 2CD with the 1st night (the 2nd night is already available in good quality). And maybe a mix of both nights on a 2LP. No expensive boxset with one highlights dvd in 4:3 video, one highlights cd and a weird t-shirt.

Not really a spoiler for the film, but I thought I'd post it here anyway. Linked below is an article by one of the researchers who worked on Supersonic, describing the hunt for the lost footage of Oasis on the Blackpool Roadshow - part of ITV's 1992 Telethon. The footage remains "missing believed wiped", but it's an interesting story. s2s.focalint.tv/Publications/AZ_articles/az2016spring_iss97_still_in_search_of_his_holy_grail.pdfHere's a related link to the TV Ark website. They have a page with some stills and clips from an off-air VHS recording of the opening title sequence of Granada's broadcast of ITV Telethon 92. No clip of Oasis of course but one of the presenters namechecks The Blackpool Roadshow. Gives an idea of what the programme was like anyway. (Btw I understand these recordings have been checked & don't contain the Oasis clip) www2.tv-ark.org.uk/itv_telethon/1992.html

Watching liam record champagne supernova gave me chills I would pay a lot of money for all the footage from those sessions at Rockfield. Now that I think of it, how hard was it to have a dvd with the reissues with footage like this, the promo videos and maybe some live songs.

Did they have any new footage or insight into the MTV Unplugged gig?

One of my favourite bits was when they were talking about Scott McCloud leaving and Liam is trying to work out his reasoning behind it (he had said that he missed his girlfriend) and Liam goes 'his missus must have been for as fuck!' Had me in hysterics.
Other highlights are hearing them talk about fate in the van on the way home from King Tut's as well as the aforementioned Rockfield footage and Liam's alternate take on Supernova. It was also pretty amazing (if that is the right word?) seeing them in Dublin the night their father was there. Got rather emotional I must say.
All in all it was a fantastic film, they did it really well. I don't think Noel DOES come across badly in it. He comes across as the leader of the pack. The leader of a particularly wild and out of control pack. Any arseyness from him is probably justified in the film. Liam comes across so so well. Hopefully gives him a bit of much needed / deserved good press after a tough few years

Hopefully gives him a bit of much needed / deserved good press after a tough few years I think Noel gave the best explanation I've heard of the difference between them with his "I'm a cat, he's a dog" analogy, followed by footage of him telling an interviewer he'd be happy to sack the lot of them and Liam chasing a ball.

Did anyone else notice that Guigs was digitally removed from all the Top of the Pops footage??? Weird. was there any mention of him then? seems like a strange thing if he was talked about anyway but if not it might be simply that he wasnt willing to take part in the film and with him not really being the most noticeable person of the band they just removed any mention of him as to not point it out and have people wonder he is.....still seems abit extreme to chris benoit him from footage like that. Yes he was mentioned lots, there was a whole section dedicated to the time he left the band in '95. There was also plenty of footage of him elsewhere, just none from TOTP.

I thought the film was brilliant... Was expecting a bit more footage that we hadn't seen before though.
Noel getting spanked was a bit cringe
I did like the quote:
"If I don't have Phil Collins' severed head in my fridge within a decade, I've failed"
Liam was brilliant, he came across as very funny.

The morning after the documentary before. It was an amazing documentary. It had bits for everyone I thought, I can see non-Oasis fans enjoying it as it had just the right amount of back story and the information and the way it was delivery of it (the animation with the ferry and the hammer, the footage that was recorded) it was all so seamless.
I loved hearing stuff like Take Me (live), Life In Vain and even the Noel song But What If. Loved even more hearing a Liam sung version of Sad Song and the Champagne Supernova recording from Rockfields was beautiful.
I did wonder why Alan White did seem to disappear at times (Letterman especially was noticeable I thought, that was the only time both me and my partner actually noticed)
Other things I expected to appear in the film but didn't: More on the messed up recordings at Mono Valley Maybe something about Whatever as Paul in his book in 96 said it was Noel's way of being free from his dad or something The whole "Battle Of Britpop", was expecting that when they started talking about how the management had taken over. More on the trouble in 96 before Knebworth maybe?
Overall, I cannot wait to see it again. Be it on DVD or in the cinema again

Noel is typically perceived as the witty one - Liam stole the show on this so its good he will (hopefully) get some good press for once. Coyley was funny too. My favourite parts included where Coyley described Liam as a kid chasing leaves in the school playground, and that part where Noel is working on something with his guitar, and Liam keeps poking his head round the door and hiding every time Noel looks up. Then he eventually prances in and dances around the room. Can you imagine how annoying Liam would've been to be around 24/7?

Another thing I would actually of liked to hear more about is when Tony sued the band. We just skipped over that. I've always wanted to know WHY he did it, how he felt about the settlement and how Noel, Liam and Bonehead reacted to it and how they felt about it, especially looking back. I just thought it was strange how it just skipped over it
