Haven't heard this in full yet, but the first single was great and it's getting really good reviews...Teenage Fanclub are one of my favorites, amazing that they still put out music 25 years after Bandwagonesque.
Anyone heard it? Opinions?

An excellent album that I only just listened to a couple of days ago - their most mellow album yet, and a few ethereal touches here and there I'm loving. Their consistency to quietly go about making very good albums is impressive. While there's not massive progression in the sound, there's always the ability to throw in a few tricks to keep things fresh.
They always maintain a standard which never drops below 'very good' and actually having three quality songwriters in a band (Oasis should have took note...) keeps them away from inertia.

This new album made me go and revisit their past albums like Thirteen. Gene Clark.......what a fucking tune! I wish Noel made ASGOG like the intro to this song. Power chords like Crazy Horse.

This new album made me go and revisit their past albums like Thirteen. Gene Clark.......what a fucking tune! I wish Noel made ASGOG like the intro to this song. Power chords like Crazy Horse. Apparently fans and critics disliked Thirteen - I don't get that at all. I'd say it's at least as good as Bandwagonesque, and Gene Clark as the final song is a masterpiece. I'm not even halfway through their older albums, but it's so refreshing to see a band just put out material consistently over decades without splitting up, changing directions, or losing too much quality.
