You don't need no love in You don't need no bed pan You don't need a horoscope or a microscope The see the mess that you're in If you open up your heart You will know what I mean We've been polluted so long Now here's a way for you to get clean
By chanting the names of the Lord and you'll be free The Lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see Chanting the names of the Lord and you'll be free The Lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
You don't need no passport And you don't need no visas You don't need to designate or to emigrate Before you can see Jesus If you open up your heart You'll see he's right there Always was and will be He'll relieve you of your cares
By chanting the names of the Lord and you'll be free The Lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see Chanting the names of the Lord and you'll be free The Lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see
You don't need no church house And you don't need no Temple You don't need no rosary beads or them books to read To see that you have fallen If you open up your heart You will know what I mean We've been kept down so long Someone's thinking that we're all green
And while the Pope owns fifty one percent of General Motors And the stock exchange is the only thing he's qualified to quote us The Lord is awaiting on you all to awaken and see By chanting the names of the Lord and you'll be free

So no one's shared this yet? Liam Gallagher Has Ditched Oasis’ Sound In Favour Of Acoustic BalladsThe singer is channelling hero John Lennon for his first music since disbanding Beady Eye in 2014. It promises to be an emotional album that could take on fellow strummer Ed Sheeran in the charts next summer. Liam, 44, spilled: “It’s a pretty Working Class Hero kinda thing – Lennony vibe, you know what I mean. It’s like acoustic. “Then there’s a couple of rock and roll tunes on there, but it’s not Oasis man. “It’s not f***ing stadium rock, you know what I mean?” Yes, Liam, I think we get the gist. Liam has made no secret of the fact he would rather be in a band and openly admits he “can’t be a***d” to pen his own tracks. He said: “I’m quite happy being the f***ing cool bastard. I’m not a***d about writing songs – you do it because you have to.” Liam has previous acoustic form, having written Oasis singles Songbird and I’m Outta Time. But at no point did he and brother Noel ever attempt to sit together and collaborate. He explained: “Noel was the songwriter of the band and I was the singer. I didn’t wanna be a songwriter. We can’t even f***ing speak together; imagine writing a f***ing song together.” Despite being a reluctant songwriter, Liam is creating the LP himself and is only working with a couple of unknown musicians to help him with certain parts. We can’t wait to hear the results. Sounds like Ed Sheeran might want to check the 2017 release schedule before dropping his third album too. Source: www.dailystar.co.uk

^^ makes sense. On a good day, his rockers are mediocre at best. But he does write a good ballad, when he's arsed enough to carry it through to the end. And unfortunately, I think guigsysEstring 's probably right when he says that Liam's voice, in its current state, couldn't hack it with the Oasis-y numbers. Dreadful piece though. Snarky and none-too-subtly scornful throughout. Maybe Liam battered the fellow who wrote it, some time in the 90s?... And what's with censoring the word "arse"? Not only does it seem overly sensitive to a quite ridiculous degree, but for a rag that still to this day devotes full-page spreads to pictures of foolish young women with their knockers out (as well as, you know, the token "You won't believe what they look like now!" pap), it feels a bit like shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted.

Noel actually improved a lot as a frontman when he had to step completely and not just partly into the role. Maybe Liam will become a better songwriter now that the whole responsibility of writing songs is on him.

Noel isn't and never will be one. The only thing Liam should do (or learn) is to finish his songs. Only I'm Outta Time, Little James (Noel had a lot of input on the instrumental) and Songbird sound finished.

I'm hoping the new album will be similar to Bob Dylan's 'Time Out Of Mind'. Stripped back, raw sounding and have Liam singing with a more softer, emotional and mature tone. Obviously it wont be on the same level as TOOM, but I'm hoping it will echo that kind of sound.
