I found these last week and thought they had some redeeming qualities. This one is a Jazz cover of Live Forever. I honestly liked it and enjoyed the liberties she took melodically. It gave me a very small glimpse into what some Jazz Giant like Ella Fitzgerald could have done with it ( I can dream right?).
This second One is a fun video these guys put together covering Wonderwall. They do it with a hard rock type sound. That would be my best guess at describing it.It has that type of guitar riff style to it. Anyway maybe not the best cover of wonderwall but its an interesting take and something a bit different. Kinda fun. Just thought I'd share and would love to hear what you fellow die-hards think. Thoughts?

I really enjoyed the 1st one. Thanks for the tip.
2nd one is a laugh. Just stupid.
I would like to share a very nice version of Wonderwall. What do you think about it?

The first one is, in a word, interesting. I don't think I can remember a serious attempt to reinterpret Live Forever so a jazz treatment is nice to hear. But I agree that it just makes you wonder what someone like Ella Fitzgerald could have done with it, because it sounds kind of unpolished.
I liked the second one a lot more. The guitar solos at the end are just dicking around, sure, but the first part really shows how the song should be covered, IMO.
The Katy McAllister one would fit nicely on a soundtrack. It doesn't exactly reinvent the wheel but covers like that have their place. And when you do trance like that it kind of has to be long, but dragging on those extra couple minutes will probably keep me from coming back to it.
Does anyone remember an a cappella Wonderwall by The Virginia Gentlemen from way back in the day? I got it off Napster but I think my CD is long gone and I haven't seen it on youtube.

The first one is interesting. A jazzy approach, why not. It's not bad at all. The rest is... I prefer to say nothing The McCalister thing is like a Guetta remix of Wonderwall... Horrendous, sounds like a dancefloor song. Just my view on it

Heard it the other day and not bad actually. To me Champagne Supernova has got to have a summer vibe - big, magnificent, overwhelming. At least their cover's in this direction. And that's why the NGHFB version bugs me...
