Every Gallagher song Johnny Marr has featured on has suffered for it.
Noel should have more confidence in himself as a great guitarist and melody maker.

Ballad of the Mighty I is one of Noel’s worst solo songs. And Johnny Marr’s solo is so weak. No, not having this one.

It's Getting Better (Man!!) is such an insanely good song. The length never bothered me and actually benefits the song IMO. It sounds so huge and wonderful and happy Noel is just shooting off guitar solos so effortlessly and Liam nails the vocals. It's the perfect "madferit" song. So chaotic but with a positive message. It sums up Oasis perfectly.

It's Better People is utter shit... there I said it!
Bad recording, stupid lyrics clearly written by an inexperienced (at the time) songwriter. Like it's teenager writing their first songs bad.

It's among the weakest "golden era" songs but it's not worse than Alive or I Will Believe in my opinion. That said, Noel probably wrote it in five minutes on an acoustic.

Oasis stood still, Noel didn’t have the balls to continue down the experimental route after “Giants”, instead he reverted to type.
This is the reason why they are not and never will be considered one of the greatest bands of all time.

It's Better People still has that Chasing the Sun nostalgic magic...then again maybe because getting the singles was such a chore over here in the States all those songs get elevated a touch from that alone. It just reminds me of warm summer days that seem to last forever and listening to all the singles on a CD player one after the other. Good stuff.

OP Clearly didn't get the message, it's written right there that Oasis were the best there ever will be.

If It’s better people was released as a single after Don’t look back in anger it would have been number 1 or close

Okay, so I'm going to sound like an iconoclast here... but if Wonderwall was the only song by Oasis I'd been exposed to, I won't have been compelled to look into them any further.
In no way am I saying its shit, I've learnt to love it, but I remember the first time hearing it and not being that fussed by it.
I love Liam's vocals, the iconic simple acoustic rhythm, the e-bow cello like effect, the freakin drums... all individual elements that make it stand out from everything else. For a band that was so raw in the studio, it's almost surprising how sophisticated, nuanced and polished this production is. But sometimes I think I love the execution of the song over the actual tune itself. The rest of the time, it's the other way round.
I don't know, it just lacks that special magic that represents Oasis for me.

It was after hearing Supersonic and Some Might Say that i did.

I'm surprised how many people slag It's Better People off, especially when you think about Noel's solo work, where many songs are instantly forgettable. It's Better People isn't a masterpice, but it's a really nice b-side, with an awesome solo/outro.

I would argue "It's Better People" is equally as forgettable as something like "While the Song Remain the Same". It's of the same league - not good at all. I think it is being overrated given the era in which it was released. I see people citing nostalgia a lot when talking about it. And saying "if it was released just after Don't Look Back in Anger it would have went to number 1" isn't really saying anything - Oasis would have gotten a number 1 in the UK with any song as a follow up to their 1996 success.
