Not for me matey. Can't stand Roll it Over. Find it dull. There's elements of a good track in there somewhere, but needs a bit more that a "rethink" for me and isn't good enough IMO Fair enough, But surely you can't think Sunday Morning Call isn't better? Gonna have to say. Yes i do!! :-). I actually think it's a good track or atleast there's a little voice in my head telling me it's good

One day Noel felt the need to write an upbeat rocker. He was having a bit of writers block. Then Patsy Kensit's son James was running around his house yelling "Liar, liar, pants on fire..." while The Who's Pictures of Lily was playing on the radio in the background.
Then boom a light went off in Noel head and that's where I Can See a Liar came from.
Five minutes later John Peel introduces The Door's Roadhouse Blues. Noel wrote a few rockers that particular day.

Even if you don't like the song you have to admire them vocals. Unbelievable.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling it a classic. In fact, I still consider it part of the 3 clunkers of SOTSOG (the other two being PYMWYMI and LJ, of course). I've always had a small soft spot for ICSAL though. I can understand Noel wanting to add some energy to what is a mellow album. And while it does sound somewhat out of place, the dark undertones do fit the mood of SOTSOG's collective. Once you get past the Liar/Fire rhyme, the track is alright. It's just a damn shame that that refrain is repeated multiple times. To me, this is Noel trying to write another Step Out - it's very similar, but ultimately falls short. That doesn't mean it's unworthy of acceptance, though. Clunky at times, but quintessential Oasis at others. I can see a liar... Shitting by the fire. A ho him haha hee hee.

Listening to it again right now. I stand by my assessment.
This is Noel trying to write another Step Out - and almost pulling it off.

Flatulence Panic and Beady’s Here Now as performed by Guns N' Roses Oh and @kitjenson you were right, I had forgotten how good the Illusions LP's were until recently myself!

Step Out is all about FUN.
I Can See A Liar is forgettable, and the lyrics aren't worth talking about. The worst Oasis song in my humble opinion.

I guess I would be in danger of being one of those people that likes everything the band has done, they're usually pricks for most bands but I have to say, I think I can see a liar is a banging tune. Not clever but solid guitar work and love Liam's vocal.
Then again I think I'm the only person that fucking loves the SOTSOG album.

The first verse is fucking fantastic "Baby the time is right, to tell it all like it is" I think it's up there with Supersonic and My Big Mouth in terms of the confidence it oozes, but it's a shame about the chorus. It's much better than lJ and PYMWYMI and it should be a sin to compare it to those 2.
