I know we have all seen the announcement of the reissue of Be Here Now on October 7, but during the announcement, noted that many scenes of G-Mex '97 in HD.
Something similiar happened in recent times, have come to light some videos of Knebworth '96, Don't Look Back In Anger (1st night), Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory, The Masterplan and Champagne Supernova (second night), and of course also in audio Wonderwall and soon My Big Mouth. In fact, we have confirmed a live album of Knebworth '96 undated yet but we can safely assume that will be released sooner or later.

All things are possible, albeit unlikely any time soon.

It's funny that Flatulence Panic used that shot of Liam with his tambourine in his mouth as avatar.

Virtually every gig they did in '97 was better than Gmex, so if they do bring a video out from '97 I hope its Earls Court, Sheffield or even Aberdeen

Liam's voice is remarkably improved from the previous two months - he only sounds better at the start of the tour. The band are alright too. Listened to the KROQ Weenie Roast gig the other night. They are on fire there if no one's ever heard it. A pro-shot release of that, and I'd be interested! It does exist as someone posted a clip of Wonderwall on MTV when they split up in 2009. Probably Liam's best ever gig after Maine Road

Any chance for a G-Mex re-broadcast in HD on MTV?

It was recorded with SD TV cameras, not on film. Absolutely no chance this will ever be available in HD.

MTV barely plays any music nowadays. The concert is probably recorded on betacam and lies somewhere in an archive (hopefully). So it's not plug-and-play ready to be broadcast again but needs at least some conversion treatment. How many people outside this forum are interested in a re-broadcast? Could a massive interest justify the arising costs? I guess we all know the answers...

I always thought it would be good if a channel like Sky Arts picked either this gig or one of the others that were broadcast (Itunes 09, Wembley 2000 etc) and screen it rather the times they do play an Oasis gig, it being the Barrowlands one everytime

There's so many Oasis gigs that deserve a proper DVD Blu-Ray release, including GMex.

This one, along with the Barrowlands 01 and River Plate Stadium 09 are my favourites to watch.

There is adigital broadcast (rare trade) with: Be Here Now
Supersonic
Roll With It
D’you Know What I Mean
Don’t Look Back In Anger
Don’t Go Away
Wonderwall
Live Forever
All Around The World
Champagne Supernova
That video looks much better than the complete VHS version.
