This is my personal opinion, but Chasing Yesterday was quite a disappointment. I don't really like any of the songs on the album.
The first album at least had The Death of You and Me, Dream On, Everybody's on the run and What a life, while Chasing Yesterday only has The Right Stuff which really stood out to me.
Its a song that's very different to his normal work..it's a great song which imo, is miles ahead of the others in terms of greatness and one which should inspire his next album. It is the best way for him to create a great album.
Again this is my opinion. Not everyone will agree but i'm really impressed by this song.

I'd be happy if it was. Its his best song since he left Oasis for me.

I absolutely adore the right stuff, and I think it fits well on Chasing yesterday, the only track I'd have swapped would have been the Mexican for Do the damage. Other than that it's the best Gallagher release since oasis' demise.
I can't see Noel being any more experimental than he was with CY, SOTSOG or DOYS, that said I can't really see him just writing four minute pop tunes for this album if he really is just seeing what comes out of him in the studio.
If we got an album of Bag it ups, Right Stuffs, and Some Giants style production I'd be more than happy.

I really hope not. 'The Right Stuff' isn't a good song. It just isn't. The window dressing of it makes it listenable and mildly interesting upon the first few playbacks, but the song at the core is crap!
Noel's greatest strength is in his ability to write simple, relate-able, great songs. As long as the tunes are good to start with, then I'll be satisfied with it.
EDIT: Had to go back and listen to it again. Yep... still feel the same about it.

Not solely, of course, but in general, yes. It's absolutely brilliant, and the music is the best he's done since Falling Down.

Fucking love this song. Agree with The Escapist there, this and While the Song Remains the Same are the best songs he's written since Falling Down, which was the best song he had written since about 1997.

As much as I love The Right Stuff, I say No.
Why? Because an entire album sounding like the Right Stuff would just be tedious. Which isn't to say the music would be bad. Individually, an album full of songs sounding like The Right Stuff would be pretty interesting. But as a whole cohesive effort, would be bland and uninspiring. Think Beach House. Awesome band in a shuffle among other songs. But listening to a Beach House album all the way through is just boring in my opinion.
I hope he continues music ideas in the vain of The Right Stuff, but as one off songs, not full or majority albums. Maybe add 1 or 2 to an album and that would be great. Though, I won't turn my nose up to a experimental album, I'd just prefer his normal take since it takes him so long to kick out new music.

It would sound like that Rolling Stones album, Black and Blue, a more jams based sound.

No. It's an interesting work but in the end it's an average tune hidden beneath layers of production.
I know some people are into that kinda stuff, but i'm not. Although i like it, one is enough.

If you strip back The Right Stuff it really is Noel by numbers in terms of structure and even lyrics.
Because he has discovered a new instrument doesn't make it a revolution to his career or songwriting like it is suggested.

God, that would suck. TRS is great as a one-off, made all the better by the contrast to the more classic Oasis-style songs before it. Fill an album with songs like that and it gets super boring.

It would definitely be better to base it closer to something like The Right Stuff than TDOTL.

I don't know if it should be only based on it, but it should have songs in that vein. The Right Stuff is my second favourite tune off CY, after While The Song Remains The Same.
These two, Alone On The Rope, Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks, Riverman, TDOYAM,etc, are his best NGHFB tunes, imo.
Better have an album full of The Right Stuff than full of What A Life or In The Heat of the Moment .

His new album should be based on 'If We Shadows'. Loving that tune already!

Got involved with Beady Eye, really surprised with Noels HFB's but every day the more there are reissues and memories of oasis, the more I want them back.
And no. Good question but I don't want more experiments.
