Chasing Yesterday on a few songs flirted with more expirimental sounds, song structures, and melodies which leads me to believe that maybe Noel is heading into more uncharted territory relative to his own career. However if this next album isn't really anything new do you think he will ever release something that isn't fairly standard rock songs?

It's now or never pretty much; if this next album doesn't continue the trend of him expanding creatively, then it's pretty much over - unless the album bombs, of course.

I want him to pursue in the vein of While The Song Remains The Same, The Right Stuff, Alone On The Rope, etc. It's what he's done the best since solo imo, along TDOYAM and SB&JF which are more classic songwriting.

What does "interesting" mean ?
A good sound + good melodies is "interesting" to me.
He seems to be heading towards experimentation. If done right, great. But his half experiment on CS isn't that "interesting" tbh.

If and when he eventually teams up with Liam again he will.
Until then, NO.

If and when he eventually teams up with Liam again he will. Until then, NO. Nah, if he ever reunites Oasis, he will play it safe. If he wants to experiment, now's his chance; a reunion would happen so he can release some classic Oasis stuff and earn a shitload of money. That said, CY had some unusual stuff for Noel - Riverman, BOTMI, WTSRTS, Right Stuff... that's probably as interesting as it's gonna get. Personally, I welcome songs like these but I'd rather have great melodies with the same old sound than average songs with experimental sound.

I'm not really into all this experimental lark, interesting to me is something I can get excited about. Hence when he gets Liam back involved.

This album will be a important one. The chances of a Oasis reunion will grow if it fails.

This album will be a important one. The chances of a Oasis reunion will grow if it fails. You're going to be so upset when David Holmes turns the next album into an Ibiza classic, churning out banging single after single which smash the charts, helped by guest spots from Rihanna and Beyoncé, bringing Noel a whole new younger fanbase full of asymmetrical haircuts and sentences liberally punctuated with the word "like". "Like, ohmergawd, that new Noel tune, like the one with Beyoncé, it's like so banging!"

Oh and before an album, I want Noel to release a standalone single. We need to hear new songs.

Oh and before an album, I want Noel to release a standalone single. We need to hear new songs. If he's still only got "about five songs written", he could just bring an EP out now. If he shits himself that his new stuff is too out there (like he did with AA), it wouldn't matter, because EPs don't receive as much scrutiny as full LPs (well, not from the general public and music mags, anyway).

Yes. And Noel must realize even if it's too out there, it can't be worse than HC, can it ?
