Why the fuck did this abomination get anywhere near an Oasis album? Baffling.

I don't mind it actually. Call me crazy if you want but, I think it has a nice beat to it and a nice little groove and I especially like the "You called me" part where it's just Liam's vocal

It's not a terrible song. But the production is absolutely woeful. You legitimately can't hear the drums at certain point, they're so muffled.

could say the same for almost half of the whole album.
HC is an EP with some added bull bull.

I like it... but yes it's a bit rough around the edges.
Liam's vocal is good if you ask me. Then again I love Liam's voice from the HC period as much as his BHN/DM/WTSMG voices too.

Had it been recorded during the BHN era, it would've been MASSIVE.

Had it been recorded during the BHN era, it would've been MASSIVE. I think it would have helped kill off that album more for the critics TBH- I don't know if you have heard Heavy Stereo's 'Deja Voodoo' LP but HIANBP essentially sounds like ten of the twelve tracks off that, the exceptions on that album being the obligatory acoustic one and slow one. In 1996 Noel Gallagher was talking Heavy Stereo up as future stars and saw them live with Weller, as well as playing their record on GLR when he hosted a radio show, Creation Records were throwing money at the band and they supported Oasis during the Britpop peak at Loch Lamond yet still couldn't crack the top 40 with a single whilst the album did under 5,000 copies in the first year. Those above statistics say a lot to me about the perceived quality of Gem's songwriting versus the reality- he has been in signed bands since the 1980's that all went nowhere, until by being in the right place and knowing the right people he landed on his feet. A nice guy from what I know and decent enough guitarist, but for me the songs themselves were never quite there.

It's just no Chinese Burn... You just dont open your debut album with the best one. That was a great song. But, the rest of the album is way less good than that.

Gem should NOT be allowed to be near any kind of material you are able to write on when he has the intention of writing a song.
Okay that's a tad too harsh. I quite like The Roller and To Be Where There's Life, despite those songs not really helping with the whole "Oasis rip off the Beatles reputation".

Dad rock at its very finest. Awful tune.
Gem's a nice guy, but if you said in the 90s the bloke from Heavy Stereo would be writing songs for Oasis, your heart would plummet a million miles.

Sums up Oasis in the 2000s tbh. I know some Oasis fans try and defend the Noughties era, but there's just too many of these shitty tunes littered across the 4 albums. It simply outweighs the good Oasis moments from 2000s.

Oh well I really like this song. Along with Songbird and The Cage, it is my favourite off HC.
I like the riff, the nonsense lyrics, the bass solo, and of course Liam's vox! Lots to like here IMO.

Banana skin has been used as a natural gripping mechanism for the soles of shoes for thousands of years.* (Fuck knows but it might have been, somewhere)
