So Beady Eye was great, but lacked a true hit songwriter. I think we can all agree on that. What I would love to see is the band back together, but do some collaborations with other songwriters and artists to get those "hits" they needed and lacked before.
What artists would you like to see them work with?
I would love to see Mike Posner and Chris Martin. I think Posner could make a new sound for them that could strike gold. What do you guys think?

The idea is fine as long as they stick to rock music.
Posner and Martin are no no. Wouldn't mind seeing artists like Ashcroft working with Liam.
E: Well, Chris Martin might have potential to write a top-hit song, but I don't want Beady Eye to become mainstream pop.

Liam should have absolutely nothing to do with Chris. Massive Attack, Flying Lotus, or even Jamie XX would be much better potential collaborators.

I don't care if they have a hit or not.

This has been suggested for a potential Liam solo album a few times. He has some friends that are pretty good songwriters, but I doubt he would do it anytime soon. Beady Eye is done, he's not going solo at the moment...not looking too good.

The only chance for Liam (and Noel) to score a hit again is reform Oasis and make an album.

I think a duet between Liam and Beady’s Here Now would be a fantastic idea. They could harmonise on Little James.

Might as well keep writing their own songs!? Chris Martin, on the other hand, is a good songwriter. Dont let the production of his later albums fool you. P.s. You know Oasis were "mainstream pop" in the 90s right?

The Verve > Coldplay I don't hear songs like Live Forever, Rock N Roll Star, Slide Away, Morning Glory etc. on the radio anymore. Mainstream pop is fucking Calvin Harris, Rihanna David Guetta and other generic shit.

Should Johnny Marr stop making albums by this logic then?

Um, every Coldplay album, with the exception of A Head Full of Fucking Dreams, pisses over everything Richard solo. Yes, Richard wrote absolute masterpieces in the Verve, but nowadays he's just another so-so singer-songwriter. There's little he could contribute to Liam other than the awesome sight of seeing two great frontmen on stage together.

We will have to disagree- I lost interest in Coldplay circa Viva la Vida I take your point though it isn't that Liam just needs a songwriter only, he needs a complete package like Guy Chambers for example was to Robbie (I know, I know) or else a team of people for co-writing, production and performance to bring any new work out of him. Also on subject of two great frontmen on stage together it happened a decade ago
