Liam insecure? Look the eye contact between Gem and Liam. That was a great session. They also played what I personally think is the best version of SBOTA:

They also played what I personally think is the best version of SBOTA: I've always thought he sung it better here than he did on the actual record. The couple of months just before BE came out was a really exciting time. Liam was looking and sounding great, it felt like the new songs were gonna be better than the old ones... It's just a shame everything went tits-up quite soon after it was released.

His singing here was stupidly good. Was definitely an exciting time and Liam looked cool as fuck. Not like now with that horrible long hair

Solo album, solo tour and Oasis reunion, all in next few months :-) Liam is becoming one of the busiest man in business.

I think Liam should think about changing the arrangement of oasis covers, not only could it help him to sing some of them better by not having to sing things in the original way but would offer something fresh for his solo touring, Liams not going to be able to sing live forever like he did so just change it up, it reduces that audible comparison anyhow.
I was watching robbie williams brit icon award performance last night, to me hes struggled to sing 'feel' for years but last night he took a more relaxed approach to it and sung it slightly different rather trying to hit notes in places he cant anymore, it generally freshened it up and he sounded better out of it, it not a major difference, just enough to make it work better for where he is vocally.

Exactly, they should have done that in 2000. They played Some Might Say in 2002 with capo 4 instead of no capo but that song is probably the hardest Oasis song to sing. Same with D'You Know What I Mean?. They did a good job with reworking My Big Mouth on their last tour. Columbia is easy too sing and will get a great reaction from the audience.

They also played what I personally think is the best version of SBOTA: I haven't listened to any of these tunes in ages... The verse melodies on 'Second Bite' are DREADFUL here. I had to cut it off after a minute. Couldn't take it. ----- Start Anew is at least listenable. Still not all that great though.

start anew is a perfect example of Liam having the potential to be a great songwriter with some help, on his own it has potential but doesnt quite make it.
choruses, thats the key here, good fucking choruses.

From a very nice interview with Ray Davies in Q Jan. 2017:
He must have been in a great mood, there are even a few nice remarks about Dave.

Flow Festival will announce Liam tomorrow. You heard it here first!
(Please don't take this seriously. I just wish it happened because they're announcing their first artists tomorrow.)

That radio session was great back then as much as it is today. Start Anew is definite proof Liam can write his own tunes if he really puts effort into them.

He sounds like a fucking angel on Start Anew. I don't think people don't believe he can't sing anymore it's more of how long can it last. Once the touring starts the decline begins. He's really like a relief pitcher in baseball, a man off the bench in soccer or basketball. Great in short bursts. Still a killer studio guy.

I'm not on about this forum mate, I'm on about in general. That's the frustrating thing about Liam, I don't know how he can go from sounding this good to dreadful in a matter of weeks. I don't know if it's a mentality thing? You can tell he is really trying here.

I think theres a general opinion amongst the casual crowds that he cant sing anymore, people generally have got at him over it for years now, at the end of the day Liam used to have 95% great gigs with the odd 5% being abit shit but nowadays it tends to be more so the reverse, he has the odd gig where you think "wow hes back" then the next night hes back sounding really worn out, he cant wing it anymore, if hes isnt feeling it then thats it, he sings poorly, hes got to put more effort in just to get something close to what he could do years ago with no effort. this is miles above most of the DGSS tour to the point its probably his best vocal on RNRS in years, never lasts though I think Liam needs to take his touring with a wise mind this time around, keep the breaks regular, I personally feel his voice is quite an important aspect this time around, give people a surprise, certainly on the record.

No reason he can't have a good, long solo career. He shouldn't be expecting number 1s, number 10s even number 20s. Just keep knocking the solo albums out, with plenty of live gigs with a good chunk of Oasis material, and he'll be fine. Just needs to keep that ego in check.

That's honestly not a good vocal performance though. Another thing is they missed a huge opportunity when playing Oasis songs live. Why play the greatest hits instead of promoting their own penned material? GGTIA would've been perfect for the BE tour, and during DGSS I'm sure the crowd would've loved Songbird and more upbeat pop songs like it. Where was I'm Outta Time, TBWTL, etc.? Of course the classics are popular but they could've took a different take on their Oasis songs and more people could've wanted to have another listen to them.

I think its alright, probably not the best example of Liam being on form as he has been granted as he has been but point still stands.
