I am so happy Liam's got a #1 album. He has really deserved it this time.

Liam’s carry on at One Love is so spellbinding it was completely lost on me until now that just prior to his stage entrance there’s audio footage of Muhammad Ali being played.

So Liam comes on to Ali audio footage. Against the deafening backdrop of doubt and no doubt self-doubt, he saunters on in that glorious bright Orange mac. Confusingly those rain-soaked vocals are back. To complete the North Of England references there are maracas. Chris Martin is busy taking care of falsetto and wood and wires yet his glance at Liam is one which acknowledges that magic has just walked in to town. Don’t even mention the love returned from the crowd.
One Love was not ABOUT the gaffer but he wrapped it up with beautiful bows.
Well done that man. How important can Music be if everybody wants it.

I think the Ali audio is from Coldplay, something they had been doing since they started their AHFOD tour (correct me if I'm wrong).

It’s the kind of thing that would usually stick in my mind though - Ali is an icon, even if a complicated one - but that quasi-presence in the way of a recording, it’d escaped my memory because of what Liam served up.

It appears from this forum and particularly the "5 best songs from As You Were" thread that this is a criminally underrated song but I love it!

The backing vocals in the end of You Better Run sound like ABBA.

LIAM GALLAGHER: BRITAIN’S SONGBIRD With the release of his first solo album, The Rake looks back (not in anger) at the career of 2017’s favourite Gallagher brother. "And that’s the Liam of today: the 45-year-old dad who takes his kids on tour, shares his recipe for throat-soothing tea, watches Love Island, gets up at 5:00am to jog without music, chases squirrels, talks to geese, adores his mum, defends the memory of George Michael from homophobes and donates the profits of his first solo gig to families of the Manchester Arena victims. He’s a working-class hero, a songbird with the silhouette of a raptor, freer solo than paired, a Bronte rather than a Brother Grimm." therake.com/stories/icons/liam-gallagher-britains-songbird/

Guess I am not the first one to notice that all of Liam's band start with M? Mehler, McConnell, McDougal, Moore, Madden. Only took me half a year, while studying the album credits.

Swedish radio station called NME because they wanted to find out why NME has so many stories about Liam Gallagher. The reasons: they are the most popular ones and when they were still selling magazines Oasis issues sold the most. "He creates a lot of traffic". Interestingly NME would like to interview Noel too, but he says no to them at the moment. sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=4283&artikel=6801725

The one love concert was that moment Liam proved he was still (alongside noel) Manchester and many men in England's favourite Rock star.
And that Live Forever, honestly is just incredible. Close your eyes on that last chorus and just wow. Its alongside any performance hes ever done for me. It made all the shit of being a fan of his worth it.
