As You Were is shaping up to be the 3rd best Gallagher album OF ALL TIMES 🥊 Yeah, I said it. It won't come even close to being close to The Original Trilogy. Can't see it being as good as SOTSOG, NGHFB, or Chasing Yesterday either. DBTT and DOYS might run it close, depends on As You Were's second half. If I was a betting man, I'd say it looks like it's gonna come in around seventh for me - well ahead of the Beady Eye material, though. It'll probably top my list of Liam Gallagher solo albums.

Haha It's not going to touch the first three. Could be anywhere from 4 down for me, I'd be surprised if I didn't prefer it to both Noel's solo efforts given what I think of those.

remember not liking Live Forever with Chris Martin and his guitarist, but well I watch it now and it's great.
did we kinda believe that Noel and Liam could turn up together for Live Forever? With Bonehead on keys? oh fuck. that would have been something.

I dont think it will be song for song better than Noels two albums but i can already tell i will be playing it a hell of alot more in a few years than i do either of Noels albums now.
Noels are well written and theres more effort in them than anything hes bothered to put out since 1997, but fuck me it's boring listening to that voice for 10 songs.

I quite like some of the songs on Noel's albums on there own merits but I've tried to sit and listen to both his previous albums in the past and never once made it to the end. Each to there own and all that but I find nothing of interest in his voice.

Likewise, i already feel alot more interested in the new album because i genuinely dont know what direction he will take and its the first Noel solo album i can say that for. Ive been looking forward to each Beady Eye album and Liams solo far more than anything Noel has done literally because Liam can throw anything at us. Hes a loose cannon and the snippets Beady Eye gave us were always far more exciting than the well structured, blandly produced stuff Noel was inevitability making.

How I feel about it is: Noel solo reminds me of Coldplay/Weller solo etc etc <--- I dunno if this is contriversal but oh well, is ok, something to listen to on/off but the new stuff is very Meh and off-putting and I no longer have the desire to see live

I don't get the whole not liking Noël's vocals thing.....his voice if anything is inoffensive; actually find LÃam's vocals sometimes grating....
Takes all kinds.....
Thanks.

Dylan has my favourite voice of all time and that divides opinion like no other. Saying Noel's voice is inoffensive is part of the problem for me, it just doesn't make me believe in what he's singing about. I have no real technical knowledge of singing or music for that matter so I'm not really impressed by the technically correct way of doing things. I just want to feel the emotion in the song and that's a thing you can't really define. I can see all the reasons that people give for why noel is good at what he does but it just never hits home for me when I listen to his stuff.

Suffice it to say that if Noel had been Oasis' lead singer, the songs probably wouldn't have caught my attention and I wouldn't have become a fan of the band. Noel is a brilliant songwriter, but I can't listen to his voice for more than one or two straight songs. There's something about his cadence especially in certain songs that make me want to press skip. From the snippets of his third album though, I think I might actually like Who Built the Moon if the focus is more on the instrumental than the singing. Liam, on the other hand, energizes me with his voice whatever he's singing. Though I have friends who can't stand his voice. So yeah, to each their own.

I feel the same... there is no passion in his voice.. it's there in the guitar and mix. I feel as though he's just going through the motions And it's not necessarily a bad thing..hes more passionate about the instruments, which is extremely important... basically I'm having issues putting words to my thoughts. Hopefully, i made some sense 😉

I actually like the way Noel sang in the 90's much more than the way he does it these days.
