Haven't heard the Gimme Shelter cover but I thought the Across the Universe one was pretty awful. My Sweet Lord was pretty decent though. tbf I think Across the Universe was recorded very quickly to raise some money for charity. Fair enough then, I didn't realize it was for charity. Massive respect to them for that even if I'm not a big fan of the cover. |

I had completely forgotten about that; I listened to that Seahorses album about 15 years ago, & this Liam co-write never gets mentioned in Oasis biographies or fan forums like this one so I forgot its existence altogether & was thinking Ashcroft was referring to a song Liam sang on. (By the way, I know many songs which are a lot more crap than this one; it's O.K. in my opinion.) |

My Liam thought of the day is that perhaps he has arranged it so that his album comes out at around the same time as Noel. I know it's unlikely as if he HAD done this, he would have done it so they were released at the same time but it is far away enough so that they don't directly clash but close enough so that there can be direct comparison and competition.
It will be very interesting (exciting, even) to see them go at each other in the press leading up to their albums and subsequent tours. Previously there have been a couple of years between tours so there's been no real ability to have a back-and-forth. This time, Liam could appear on the Graham Norton Show (very unlikely, I know!) and Noel could be on it the following week!

A bit surprising mention of Liam in a local Finnish newspaper. There's an interview with a 18 year old green party member Alina Heywood. Among other things she tells how her English father is a tour manager and friends with Liam and Noel. As a child she played with Liam's and Noel's kids at Liam's home. And when Liam recently had a gig here in Finland she got to meet him again. She describes Liam as a very nice person, different from how he is in media.
