That's terrible! My thoughts are with the families of those aboard the flight.

But since this is breaking news, before we jump the gun and draw parallels with Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, let's remember that it is quite common for planes that have crashed to disappear mysteriously from radar, only to have their wreckage discovered within a few days. MAS 370 was bizarre because they couldn't locate the plane quickly, not because radar contact was lost. And because the Mediterranean is a small, shallow sea, the search would be easier than scouring the Indian Ocean blindly and probably won't take very long either. I will bet you that this plane crashed into the Mediterranean and that its wreck will be found within a week.
