I like a good road test compilation but nothign beats listening to an album all the way through on a long drive. What are some of your favourites for the road?
Mine:
Verve - Urban Hymns Bob Dylan - Blood on the Tracks Travis - The Invisible Band The Who - Live at Leeds

The car has never been my favorite listening environment, due to the excessive amount of white noise from the act of driving, but I'll suggest this obvious one:

I once walked around the streets of Toronto listening to "Currents" by Tame Impala. Not sure that counts as a road trip album but it was a great sonic experience being slightly hungover that morning. Interesting sounds for an interesting city.

Nice choice! Californication's another good road trip album, and the last track is titled pretty fittingly enough, as well. Achtung Baby is also a pretty good road trip album. It takes you for an adventure and doesn't let go until the end, kind of like the open highway on a road trip.
