I know this forum isn't exactly the right demographic, and Blink-182 are unequivocally American. But I like them, so fuck you. They just released their first single, Bored to Death: www.nme.com/news/blink-182/93290

Tom made an announcement the other day (again) that hes done with Blink. Is this album without him or old recorded stuff?
Hes better off with Angels And Airwaves anyway

Hes better off with Angels And Airwaves anyway didnt he say he spoken to mark and they do have a future together but they are busy doing their own thing at the moment? even so I like AVA more than blink, its just more interesting. this album is new material with matt skiba as toms replacement I believe.

Yeh Angels And Airwaves outdo Blink in every way possible. Dont get how people still ramble on about Blink, people who liked them should be at least 30 by now. It still seems to.be teenagers who like them though

The new song is alright.
I just can't see how they can still call themselves Blink 182 without Tom DeLonge. It's a bit of a joke.

I was joking last time in the Swift's thread, saying at least we don't have a Blink 182 one on here.
How wrong I was...

7/10, seems like a decent punt. Solid.
Too much filler though, but with 16 tracks, I guess that was expected. Some tunes on there, as well though. Hence the seven.

I haven't listened to this yet... I'll hopefully do it in the next few days.
I'm still baffled by the fact that they decided to carry on with the Blink name after Tom DeLonge left. Imagine if Liam carried on with Oasis without Noel. That's just wrong.

Im of the opinion that when a vital member of a band leaves then the name should go too and from my view tom was the most integral part to blink, you cant just bring in someone to replace him and pretend like nothings changed.
I dont think its right to just carry it on when its clearly not the same band anymore, its like Liam or Noel carrying on the oasis name with a replacement, your just essentially using the name to boost sales but really in the long term your only watering the name down, just let it go, create something new, leave the blink name on the original trios work.
Ive never liked blink as whole all that much but the way they were after the reunion with Tom and now this new blink, it just feels like a bunch of middle aged men trying to recapture something that has clearly passed, just move on from it, at least take the band in a new direction than just simply imitating the work created with tom.
stumbled across this today, what a mess, think they should certainly be leaving songs like this alone, its abit of a parody.

'kings of the weekend' is full of clichés and is 100% pure dude rock, and sounds like it could have--- and should have--- been on the radio 15 years ago.... but i will admit i like it.

Whenever I see the title of this album, I think of that Phantom Planet song.

I dont know what to think of the new album tbh, some of the songs are actually ok and matt skiba isnt bad and I might even go as far as to say hes a better live vocalist on the louder tunes but he sounds too much like a Tom delonge impressionist for my liking, theres no progression in sound, its simply a case of finding someone who sounds like Tom and carrying on which I guess is fine if thats what you want to.
I mean most of the songs Ive heard, you probably wouldnt even recognize its a different vocalist if you wernt tuned in to it too much which on one hand it doesnt matter but on the other hand it has a vibe of not being the genuine article.
