I don't remember there ever being metal detectors (I haven't been there for 18 months) but it wouldn't surprise me.

I don't know about Bournemouth but tonight in Leeds everyone was being scanned with the portable metal detector. I decided not to take my gear in when I saw all the searches.

Hi
at the Colgogne gig two weeks ago there have been literally NO (!) controls at all. You could have move in easily with everything (!) you want. Since I never experienced something like this within the last 20 years of going to gigs before, I was totally shocked. The same goes for all other people around me whos reaction I noticed.
Anyway, there seems no policy given by the band with regard to access control. Obviously it depends on the venue´s policy/legal situation in your country.
Have fun!
EDIT: Sorry, you asked if there are permanent metal detectors. I have no idea ;-)

Overhere, they don't controle at smaller venues like Paradiso, Melkweg and Tivoli, but bigger venues like HMH and Ziggo Dome. However, when I went to see EL VY in Melkweg last December, it was the first time they controled at the door becuase of Paris tragedy a couple of weeks earlier. They didn't even econtrole at The Coral gig earlier this month, after what happened in Brussels last month. One of my last Oasis gigs in 2009, my male friend was controled by a security at the door. He had to stand his arms raised although I had his coat in my hand. Anyway, stay safe and have a great time tonight and tomorrow guys.

Yeh most gigs just let you in no bother. I have been tapped down a few times but I think they are just feeling for glass beer bottles usually is people try to smuggle them in. I did set the metal detectors off in the Barrowlands though, that was scary. But even after doing that they didn't search me thank god

I went to the venue last night (Bryan Adams was playing)..
Had a walk round the foyer and checked security out. Didnt seem to be any checks going on. Just a quick ticket scan and they were in.
Hopefully the same tonight

They were doing a padding down at Birmingham last night but they didn't go through my pockets or anything like that.

They checked my bag at HMH. Can't remember Tivoli, but they probably checked my bag there too.

I've seen the padding down happen a few times, but I always wonder how they pick out those people, based on what etc

Didnt get checked at all.
Had a bit of a nightmare though. My recorder froze and i thought id lost all the gig. The recorder has a repair function for corrupt files thank god.
But please be aware. Listening back on the recorder it does seem slightly distorted, even though my levels etc were ok. Hopefully its better when i transfer to the pc
Record Machine is a fuckin TUNE by he way \m/

Just got back from the gig! Great night out, all the band seemed to be enjoying it and Noel had good banter with the crowd!

Fade Away was my favourite from the night, with old photos of memories of English life up on the big screen.

Noel seemed to be in a really good mood and everyone in the crowd was loving it. Everything was so much better than the o2 gig in March last year!
