Such a cringey interview "im not boring, i can play guitar so i am a musician"
Ellie, Ellie, Ellie... You are very boring to me. Your voice really grates on me and i turn the radio off when you come on. That Army song is the worst thing ive ever heard.
Boring Boring Ellie.

"if the epitome of supposed rock’n’roll is playing guitar"
It really isn't, though. Anyone can play guitar.

Indeed Also Ellie darling not being boring and being the "Epitome of Rock N' Roll" does not IMO include having to tell people this fact yourself via an interview with a broadsheet that then gets regurgitated in part by a scandal sheet...just a thought

I'd never heard of her before that awful, awful song from "50 Shades of Grey" last year.
Couldn't care less what Noel thinks of Ellie Goulding, to be honest. Actually I don't care about her at all.

Ellie Golding IS boring and Noel Gallagher IS a liar. Now, mattyo, I've been thinking about giving The Small Faces a try. Which of their albums would you recommend for a first time listener?

Oh I know, I saw a documentary on em a few months back, and watching the old footage of Marriott, it's staggering just how much of it Weller lifted for himself. Obviously there's the hair and dress sense, but it's the high kicks as well, and even his way of strumming the guitar is the same. His love for Marriott, as a young man, must have rivalled Liam's Lennon obsession. I have to say, when I watched the documentary it did kind of put me off for the most part. It just seemed like one of those things where they get old rockers sat round in front of a camera talking about how great they used to be. You know, like how Jimmy Page has been for the last three decades. And they were going on about how they made this mind-boggling psychedelic record sometime in the 60s, and then they played it, and it just sounded like one of those naff 60s bands that time has all but forgot now - you know, the ones that still had the Beatles moptop haircuts in 68. But I'm sure I just got the wrong end. I'll definitely give them a proper shot, if for no other reason than I've always been fascinated by bands that have carried on - and still been good - despite line-up changes, and (I must confess) I only last night learned that the Faces, who I've always wanted to get into, were a spin-off from the Small Faces.

That tune that has the lyric 'love me like you do' gets on my nerves. If you had a shotgun, you'd shoot wherever the tune is playing from.

I think the finger coordination comes with practice man haha. Also Ellie Golding IS boring and Noel Gallagher IS a liar. That's beautiful, it truly is, a truer word was never spoken.

On the surface, its nonsense, but like much of Pablo Honey, it's full of sarcasm and clever use of influences.

Talented musicians and Smiths fans to boot, so the cleverness and sarcasm should no surprise- also on a side note how far they progressed and how quickly from Pablo Honey was equally impressive.

Controversial post here: If there was any band in the 90s that should've had the Beatles stigma attached to them, it should've been Radiohead. The evolution of their sound from the grunge Pablo Honey, the youthful, melancholic rock of The Bends, then onto the sonically diverse OK Computer and from there Kid A - is incredible. Oasis really had that Lennon-McCartney-ish feel to them due to influences but it wasn't that deserving.

You'd struggle to find any band that put out both an OK Computer and a Kid A, that is, two experimental, groundbreaking albums in a row (only other example I can think of right now is Revolver and Sgt Pepper). People may say that RH stole tons from Aphex Twin, Can, Miles Davis, Brian Eno, etc, but the Beatles ripped off many artists too! And innovation ain't thinking of new ideas, it's combining the best ideas into something great and truly your own.

And innovation ain't thinking of new ideas, it's combining the best ideas into something great and truly your own. I've never really got Radiohead. I like a lot of 90s electronic music like Aphex Twin, FSOL, Autechre, so I'd expect to like Radiohead but they've always left me uninterested for some reason, except for Rabbit in Your Headlights with UNKLE/DJ Shadow which is great but still gets a bit too melodramatic towards the end (Fat bloody fingers are sucking your soul....AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY) Maybe that's why I've never really liked them, the emotions they show artistically look good, but often they push it to a point where it feels more art for the sake of art rather than actually resonating with real everyday emotions. Actually even on days when I'm feeling really crap, it still doesn't work for me, I prefer listening to 100th Window by Massive Attack or The Terror by The Flaming Lips for getting that feeling where crap thoughts and feelings just pressurize you to the point where you feel that you can't do anything. Also 2 great albums back to back, Vanishing Point and XTRMNTR by Primal Scream. Probably not that experimental or groundbreaking, but if OK Computer and Kid A can be called that, so can these two imo. ...and to keep vaguely on topic, I don't care about Ellie Goulding
