I love Liam's voice on DBTT, especially Let There Be Love which I reckon is his best ballad moment since Wonderwall (why its so underated in this forum is another thread all by itself). Now I reckon Fade Away's vocals are good, I mean its obviously one of their punkier moments so I think Liam's shout-aloud voice complements the song very well. Personally I would prefer if this rumour about the orchestra wasnt true but Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders? is a fantastic ballad by Noel so I reckon they'll do a great job on this album. Whether I think its the right direction is another question.

I . Just the same as I don't like his vocals on Fade Away from The Masterplan. Bloody hell. I know there's the old saying 'everyone's entitled to their opinion', so can I be entitled to say your opinion is at best totally inaccurate and at worst, complete, utter, total, absolute bollocks? (btw Fade Away is my fav song and I'm a touch drunk so I maybe over doing it a bit)

I think DBTT was looked at as a success because they finally showed some sort of evolution. SOTSOG went in a different direction also, but there were so many clunkers on it that I don't think anyone really appreciated the whole electronic/psychdelic direction they went in. DBTT was definitely more 60's rock and bluesy...which we really can't say about another Oasis album. To be honest with you, I've had enough with the rockin' anthems and headbangers. Anyone could play it safe and keep making the same music...but it's the truly great artist that can evolve and still be successful.

"Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is about a trillion times better than "Let There Be Love" in about a trillion ways.

"Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is about a trillion times better than "Let There Be Love" in about a trillion ways. I agree. I think LTBL is a bit overrated...although it's got a killer piano outro

"Stop Crying Your Heart Out" is about a trillion times better than "Let There Be Love" in about a trillion ways. Agreed. Same with Little by Little. I fuckin love that song LTBL is ok. If Noel added one more verse where he sang (come on baby blue is so beautiful), and shortened the outro it would have been mega. But since he didnt, it's rather shite

I believe the orchestra rumor is true. Noel spoke about doing something like that. Of course that doesnt mean it will happen, but still. And i doubt every track on the album would use the orchestra anyway
I also Stop the Clocks will appear on this album. Noel has teased us by: 1.) Almost including it on DBTT 2.) Naming the greatest hits by that name 3.) Released the lyrics to the song
I really want to hear a full, quality version of that song in LDSMD though, where it goes: If there's a god you be crashing when you burn.....singing out sh la la la
That sounds beautiful.
DBTT was a step in the right direction, and this album - maybe it wont live up to some of our high standards - but it'll be a good 'un. Oasis have matured, they are the most focused and determined as they've ever been too.
I dont know why many here doubt this coming album. Think about all the past albums. We all stick up for the downers: BHN, SOTSOG, HC.....and i promise you this album will be better than all 3. (BHN is TOP, but it's non sensical lyrics and overproduction lets it down. But that will always remain a fuckin fun album to blast and sing a long in the car....)

I think no matter what they do there everyone will love two of their records, slag off two of their records, and the rest will be in the middle.
"I love DM and MG but hate SOTSOG and HC." "I love DM and BHN but hate HC and DBTT..." etc...
This one will just be added to one of the three categories, loved two, hated two, or enjoyed rest. For me personally, I hope it shoves demotes DBTT into the "enjoyed" category by pushing DM into the number two spot.
I dare you to make sense of all that.

Hmm, I doubt that will ever happen though, mainly because there are so many Oasis fans who won't let that happen. I for one could've easily have done it, as Definitely Maybe is not my fave album. It would've been really really cool though if they made a new album that overdone Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory. Also I really hope Stop The Clocks and The Boy With The Blues will be on it. I think The Boy With The Blues easily has equally as good chance as Stop The Clocks as being on the new album. I don't now, but I have this feeling that Stop The Clocks could end up like The Masterplan or something? Would've been great that, seeing as The Masterplan is my fave Oasis song. I also think that The Boy With The Blues could end up like sounding like a more stripped down version of All Around The World. I honestly can't wait for the new album ;D

Oasis: The Pitch - Everything turned up to II. Noel Gallagher is living out his Burt Bacharach fantasies, talking up the successor to 2005's career - steadying Don't Believe The Truth as "colossal" and "60s sounding", complete with "100-piece orchestras and choirs". One song, I Wanna Live In A Dream In My Record Machine is a 10-minute psychedelic epic.
Producer Dave Sardy is back on board for sessions at London's Abbey Road studios. But while the band may be label-less, don't expect them to do a Radiohead - Liam Gallagher has said they'll give away the album "over my dead body".
We Say - The last album was a return to form. Gallagher senior has his confidence back.

That article also mentioned May as the "ETA." That sounds better to me than August!

stop stabbing DBTT. There's at least 4 tunes on there that would be top ten singles for any band that's broke in the last 3 years (see lyla, llab, tiobi, abwr, ltbl) it's a complete record.
