So I went to Noel's gig at Margaret Court Arena last night, decent venue actually. Sound at the start was a bit off but the techs must of tweaked a bit because half way through it got better.
So as expected this was the usual Noelly G show, no surprises and the band was tight - but this will happen when the set list never changes......
I mentioned this in another thread, but it really annoys me now how Noel appears to have become extremely lazy when it comes to his guitar work. Tim Smith seems to be doing most of it while Noel stands there strumming an acoustic.
I did like seeing Sad Song and Champagne Supernova, btw there is HUGE money in an Oasis reunion - when Noel played DLBIA the crowd went NUTS. I'm talking standing in the aisles, jumping up and down shit.
He didn't talk much but did make a few quips about some gimp in the crowd who claimed he was a magician. "Did you pay for your ticket? You're a pretty shit magician then"
Here are some of my videos:

I hazard a guess that Noel's concentrating far more on singing, which is what he should be doing.

You're missing the point, in the past Noel has been fine playing lead and signing - look at all those times when he had to fill in for Liam and still play lead guitar. Noel was a better guitar player when he was on coke, his best stuff was during the BHN Tour. Noel didn't even do most of the guitar solo work on his fucken album, which screams laziness to me - or he has forgotten how to play like he used to.

Well of course Noel would have continued to play lead when Liam was off - who else would have, Bonehead? Noel still chucks in the odd solo here and there - Lock All The Doors, Don't Look Back In Anger etc, but the fact remains that is why Tim Smith is there. As for studio stuff, there's precedent for that going all the way back to Champagne Supernova, and in higher numbers from SOTSOG onwards. I'll agree Noel's playing was better whilst he was on the drugs but those days are long gone never to return.

I think Tim plays more lead so that Noel is able to focus more on his singing. I would have liked to see Noel play more solo's and lead as well though.
