Been thinking about this song a bit lately. It has seemed that this song has received a little bit of a recovery on this forum. When it was first released it wasn't received too well on here. Have opinions changed? This could have been on DBTT following Mucky Fingers. Would anyone have been happy with this on that album or any other?

Personally, I feel it's a total throwaway of a song. It's one of the most obvious b-sides I have ever heard Oasis record and the lyrics aren't exactly brilliant. The tune is nice and, in my mind at least, it reminds me of "Leave My Guitar Alone", "Here's A Candle.." and even "I'd Pick You Every Time" in the sense of it's a short song like them...short, quite fun but ultimately boring and instantly forgettable songs that Noel feels he has to record and release

I like Noel's throwaway songs, and this one particularly.
I place it right after Falling Down on Doys and fits well.

Utterly forgettable.
I quite like the eerie sounds at the beginning though.

A nice little tune. Lightweight compared to the dark overtones of the DOYS tracks, but almost to the point that it might float off you. But I like it, and Noel ought to play it live.

Funny how a shared love of a band can yield such wildly differing feelings.
I thought it was criminal to leave it off of DBTT with the segue built in to follow Mucky Fingers. I would have cut Turn Up The Sun ("I got a piano, I can't find the C" being one of the worst ever oasis lyrics), open with Mucky Fingers and give Those Swollen Hand Blues a deserving slot on the album.
Just one man's opinion.

Should have been Noel's debut single.

I LOVE it. Noel doesn't go for "artsy" songs often enough. He usually succeeds when he does. Very, very Beatle-ish. Anyone who doesn't like it is a hopelessly bereft yobbo with inverted nipples and a pocketful of chump change.

I don't love it but I certainly don't hate it either. I think it was disappointing because we were so excited to have a proper bside instead of remix (though IMO some of those remixes were quite good) and got this weird little number. I think it is artistic in a way but its also such a Noel throwaway, in that it probably took him half an hour to write and record from scratch.
I really am glad it never made it on DBTT, its definitely bside material and wouldnt have fit that album. DOYS ghost track maybe.
But I'm glad it was released.

It has all the hallmarks of the Beatles, which is exactly what Noel was intending. It's quirky as fuck. And it is indeed a throwaway track. Deserves no place on DBTT, they made the right call. But it's not a bad song, just pointless.

It's not a great song, probably isn't even a good song but I appreciate songs like this because it is so different. Not a proper album song but worth having.

Honestly, it's great! And for Swollen Hand, I think there is an iconic Beatles reminiscent tune in there. But sadly it feels unfinished and misses a great idea to lift it up to this level. Noel maybe didn't recognize this.

I'm a big fan of it. I love the whimsical atmosphere and I love it when Noel gets all world-weary in his lyrics. One of my favourite lesser known Oasis songs to go back to.

I like Noel's throwaway songs, and this one particularly. I place it right after Falling Down on Doys and fits well. Everything fits better on the second half of DOYS than the LAG Songs
